A terrific story with two amazing narrators. I looked forward to getting in my car and getting back into the story.

Historia
Molly secretly fell for Sean Wyse III, heir to the Wyse Hotel chain, more than a decade ago. Working three jobs and with only a high school degree, Molly Brandt doesn't have the kind of pedigree Sean's been looking for in a wife since the time they met. They're best friends, and that's enough for her, at least until Sean decides to move into her apartment for a few months. It's only a matter of time before Sean realizes there's more than friendship behind Molly's smiles and that maybe he wants a different life than the one he had planned.

Needs an editor
Revisado: 11-27-22
The story is predictable, but entertaining enough. The real problem is that no one bothered to edit the narration. If you're going to listen to this, be prepared for the narrator to pause, say "alt" and then read the line a slightly different way. In general, the narrators are fine individually, but they give the main characters different personalities. It's very obvious that they didn't hear each other's work.

Historia
A brilliant surgeon. A master sculptor. The media touted Dr. Potter as a savior dressed in a crisp suit. I think he’s a vicious madman of jerk-sized proportions. But fate is a wicked tease. Only Dr. Potter can give me what I need. A fresh start. A new identity. But he refused, leaving me to take matters into my own hands by accepting a job as his partner’s new secretary. Dr. Potter can’t turn down my case forever. Or at least I thought so until I uncovered Dr. Potter’s secret. A secret, which came with a venomous warning...one that destroyed everything.

Not a romantic comedy
Revisado: 11-26-22
Not sure how Audible is classifying storylines, but nothing about this is comedic. The male lead is more than grumpy. He’s a selfish jerk and not very interesting. Couldn’t finish.

Reed Henske is a personal trainer who isn't sure he'll ever be ready to date again. He's sick of guys who are only interested in the perfect body image, never seeing him for who he really is. As Reed tortures Henry with things like diet and exercise, Henry enamors Reed with recipes and laughter.

This book is as much about Henry dealing with his body image and learning to love himself as it is about the love story. So sweet.

Good story. Poor narration.
Revisado: 12-01-19
This is a satisfying addition to the Rugby series, but it's far more satisfying to read this book than listen. Corning (the male narrator) does a nice job, but he only reads part of the book. The parts read by the female narrator have poor sound quality (a noticeable tinny echo), and she reads too fast and without expression. Avoid the annoyance and just read the book.

Meh.
Revisado: 05-05-19
I bought this because I've heard so many accolades for Lisa Kleypas over the years. I'm not a fan of historical romance, so this seemed like a better place for me to start. Turns out I'm just not a fan. Kleypas tells us repeatedly how awesome Texas (and especially Houston) is, but I just wasn't feeling it. The story was too slow in the beginning and too rushed and meaningless in the last few chapters.
Meanwhile, the narration, appropriate in the early chapters when the narrator is 14, becomes annoying as the narrator ages. She keeps using a high-pitched, little girl voice that just doesn't work.
If you love Texas and sexist, high-handed men, then maybe this is for you. Otherwise, you may want to take a pass.

Ugh -- the characters were all either obnoxious or whining. If you like characters who are into manipulation and sexual assault, then maybe this is for you, but I stopped listening after the big temper tantrum.

A nice addition to the series, but this title lacks some of the character development of earlier books. Dave is a nice tie-in to the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but I wish we learned more about him.

A story of power and manipulation cut short
Revisado: 06-21-17
Would you try another book from K. A. Linde and/or Natalie Ross?
No. Linde seems to think it's okay not to write a real ending to a story, and I found Ross' narration annoyingly breathy. Not everyone from North Carolina has an overdrawn Southern accent, and they just became distracting here.
What was most disappointing about K. A. Linde’s story?
This was a toss-up between Brady's manipulation of the younger Liz and the complete lack of an ending.
Did Natalie Ross do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, but see comment about everyone having the same accent.
Could you see Off the Record being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
The story isn't strong enough to carry a movie or TV series.
