Historia
Sophie is at work on Friday morning, when the power goes out. As she waits for it to be restored, she notices that her fully charged cell phone won’t turn on. A horrifying thought crosses her mind, and she runs to look out the window. The street is full of cars that are all stalled, and people milling around looking at their non-working cell phones. She realizes that this is much worse than a simple power outage, and that she must act quickly if she wants to survive.

Shallow
Revisado: 07-10-22
I listened to the whole book out of respect to the author because I could never write and publish a book. However, I wanted to stop after an hour.
Much of the time it felt like I was being given a list. The characters were never developed and often felt like caricatures.
I like the subject, it could have been especially interesting because it was written from a female perspective. But, unfortunately, I thought it failed. I will not be buying the subsequent books.

Historia
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

Really good until the shit show in the FBI office. I think David got tired of writing or reached the maximum allowed number of words.

A little thin
Revisado: 10-07-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
maybe, thought he hurried through the story
If you’ve listened to books by Franklin Horton before, how does this one compare?
I would rank it last
Could you see Locker Nine being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes, it could be a movie Actually, an HBO mini series would be best.
Any additional comments?
You can write about a national catastrophe and a person's experience with it, without selling your political bias and stereotypes. Perhaps, the author should try it. It might even be a good learning exercise.

Historia
If society collapsed, could you survive? When Morgan Carter's car breaks down 250 miles from his home, he figures his weekend plans are ruined. But things are about to get much, much worse: the country's power grid has collapsed. There is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored - if it ever will be.

Survivalists good, government bad
Revisado: 01-31-14
What disappointed you about Going Home?
the politics
What was most disappointing about A. American’s story?
the general political tone and the attitudes it promotes.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I liked the general story and it makes you think and takes you on a journey of 'what would I do'? For that, it is worth the listen.
Any additional comments?
I will not be buying the next two books. The only good people are preppers. General citizens (the vast majority of the country) are nothing but sheep. The government isn't here to help nor does it have any redeeming qualities. The American government goes from one that values and promotes freedom and in 2 weeks goes to one akin to Nazi Germany. A challenge I pose to the author is to write from the point of view of he being in charge of the government, being responsible for the lives of all our citizens, and what he would do to combat rampant disorder and lawlessness. Or, is his view is that the only Americans that deserve to survive and recover are those that were prepared?
