Historia
Deep in the mountains of West Virginia, Conor and his team are sheltering at the Banks Compound, desperate for some way to regain the momentum that billionaire Walter Lightspeed brought to the country. They’d been so close to recovery and now salvation slipped further away with each passing moment. Desperate for a ray of hope amidst their grim reality, the team launches a mission to find someone who might be able to bring new energy to the national recovery effort. Someone America knows and respects. Someone who clawed their way up from poverty to build an empire. Someone plainspoken and unquestionably patriotic.

New to this podcast, but I like that she is open minded and NOT trying to convince anyone of anything. When someone does that (some podcasts do) it makes me run the opposite direction. I hope you delve more into the spirituality aspect as far as what this might mean. I personally am a Christian and I don't understand how the idea of life on other planets would cancel that out.The galaxy is MASSIVE and so is God.

Revisado: 03-27-23
Very much enjoyed this book. I have been a Prince fan for a very long time. I love Mayte's story about this complicated relationship. While reading it...you can sense the wall that Prince has built around himself. I feel like Mayte is trying to tell her story but, so many excuses are made for him. He was mentally abusive to her and she glosses over his behavior. It's like she's outing him without trying to sound like she's outing him. Alot of people have said that he was grooming her...however her Mom (in my opinion) was grooming her from the start. I would not let my 16 year old hang out unattended with a 30 something year old man and I just found her Mother's behavior really disturbing. Anyone who is a fan really should read this book. It's very interesting...and a little mystical.

I wanted so much to like this
Revisado: 09-10-22
It was a hard read, not going to lie. It's so sickening how someone even had an idea to start kidnapping people in Africa to sell into slavery first of all, second of all the audacity of the character...just wow...third of all it didn't really get interesting until Chapter 20 or so and one of the most underwhelming endings I've read in a very long time. This is my first time ever leaving less than 4 stars on a review. But, I had to give my honest opinion...so, here it is.

These reviews are pretty hilarious. This book is FICTION you guys. Fiction means not true. Someone said "yeah right like Pediatricians are running around doing this". What? It's a book for entertainment...read it for enjoyment, it was awesome. I couldn't put it down! And lighten up. Not everything is out to get you.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Incredible
Revisado: 08-28-22
The negative reviews must be from people who prefer simple, Harlequin Romance Novels. Also, the reviews saying that this book and some of the characters depicted are "ridiculous"....you realize that this is fiction..right? And if you cannot stand the narrator, you realize that you can read it yourself, right?
Having addressed all that...this book is more than just a book. I agree with another reviewer that it is Art. The characters are absolutely believable. The story is so rich that while reading I felt like I was there. It takes you away to another place...another time. So many layers and goes way beyond surface level...and what I took from it more than anything is how necessary it is that we all are kinder, less judgemental. The ripple effects of treating people bad based on class, or how they "appear", how much education they may or may not have, etc... goes much further than we think. Be kind.
