Better than expected!
Revisado: 10-14-24
I was in a reading gap, waiting for another book I read as involved in to come out.
I read a lot of dystopian novels. And wasn’t expecting much due to the title of the book. However, I very much enjoyed this book! The narrator was fantastic!
In terms of a story line, it was unique. The angle the author took was different than any other prepper novels I’ve read. You fell in love with the characters for different reasons. All with special circumstances and interesting points of view to the crisis.
The story kept me interested and wondering what was going to happen next. This book was a pleasant surprise for sure! Highly recommend if you enjoy dystopian that are not too heavy. It had its moments but was more entertaining than doom and gloom.

Fantastic character development
Revisado: 10-25-23
To see the characters is the book grow and flourish, was truly amazing. I cried, I cheered and I resolved myself to the storyline. I never knew what was happening until it happened. I love that at a book. Very, very, good saga! I throughly enjoyed this series.
The narration was also phenomenal. A++

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was apprehensive at first, because of its length, often these types of books drag on. But the book was able to keep me entertained the entire time. You won’t regret listening to this one.

Intriguing Read
Revisado: 03-01-23
What a fascinating story of an American and their take on the culture and environment in the Middle-east. The story has great historical references which gave significant context to the story. The content was exciting and kept you well entertained throughout the book. Hearing about the customs and cultural differences in areas such as religion, medical care and overall thought was captivating.
The narrator was phenomenal. He did an superb job with his performance. I was impressed by his voice inflections and accents. He pronounced the Arabic words perfectly, switching back to a more American tone without pause.
Great read overall!

Interesting to say the least
Revisado: 01-29-23
This is not my typical genre but the story was captivating. It left you wondering what we’re the true intentions of the kids? What made them snap? You fight your own bias’s throughout the story. And your mind works very hard to try and grasp an understanding of the situation.

Having had their formative years ripped from them, they were thrust into a shattered, savage world, a world where they only had each other. Weary travelers on the brink, there is a storm brewing, a turbulent tempest that has nothing to do with the weather. I’m so glad that these ladies decided to continue on with this series. I enjoyed the other two books so much and was delighted to see they’d teamed up for a 3rd.
As with the other two, this was another that I just couldn’t put down. It was raw, heartbreaking and hopeful all at the same time. Good job ladies!

Whether romantic or platonic, changing relationships prove tricky for Rose, Tom, Clara, and Craig—never mind adapting to the new not-so-normal. Being surrounded by the undead is bad enough, but with a tyrant-in-training running their Safe Zone, it’s that much worse.

Revisado: 04-26-22
I can never get enough of Sarah’s books. She is an absolute genius and writes in a way that is never boring and always keeps you guessing. I devoured this book way too fast and will be reeling for more which can’t come soon enough.

Always excellent
Revisado: 12-19-20
Sarah never disappoints! This book is just as amazing as all of the others I’ve read from her. You find yourself getting lost in the characters and the story. There is never a dull moment. Often times I find myself binging for hours before I stop reading. I love dystopian type novels and this isn’t your typical zombie book. The characters are relatable and the story engaging. All I can really say is you won’t be disappointed with this read.

Captivating!!!
Revisado: 10-08-18
This book has been on my suggested list for a while and the sample just didn’t catch me. Wow, I wish I would have listened so much sooner! The authors writing style is different but in an amazing way. The description of emotion in this book takes you deep into the characters souls; penetrating your own heart and mind. I couldn’t get enough!
This is set in a dystopian world but truly it’s mostly a love story. A beautiful and broken girl with a deadly touch plays the lead. The narrator does an incredible job of portraying the various characters in the book. I was floored at how well brought these characters to life for me.
I’ve read the following books in the series and felt compelled to come back and write an actual review because I think this series is so worth it. You won’t be disappointed!

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Absolutely fantastic!!!!
Revisado: 04-06-18
I was a little skeptical to get into this book after reading some of the reviews but I saw Julia Whelan was narrating and went for it. Im so glad that I did! This falls in the dystopian genre but with a mix of fantasy. If your into that, you will love this book. And of course, Julia Whelan did a phenomenal job of narrating. She made this book come to life for me. She is so captivating to listen to! I can’t wait for the second book to come out. I’m thrilled that it’s a trilogy!
