Historia
In her new true-crime non-fiction, True Crime Redux, Kane artfully describes the chain of events that followed the publication of her novel and brings a forgotten cold case back to life. She dives deep into the inner-workings of modern crime and punishment through the retelling of events she played an involuntary role in.

Good story, awful writing
Revisado: 07-07-23
80%of this book is redundant and repetitive. I thought I had skipped backwards over and over again due to the exact same lines being read.
This should have been an autobiography rather than a true crime book. The author talked much more about herself than the victim, or the “perpetrator “ that was never convicted.
there must not have been much evidence because she never spoke of any except a bump on the head, and the fact that she decided he did it. ????? Which he probably did but she’s not a jury.
Just not a good book.
The narrator was great!
The story was interesting but unresolved.
The book was terrible.
Can someone else write this story so it makes sense?
Please and thank you!!

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Great story

I enjoyed this immensely. The interviews and words coming from actual victims and law enforcement were chilling.

Historia
Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

If you enjoy reading about someone blowing their own horn and telling you how great they are this book is for you!!
I wanted more case studies but that wasn’t the nature of this book.
If you love Joe Kenda you’ll most likely like this book

Very slow and repetitive
Revisado: 02-02-23
This book found have been an interesting read but the bocss was is were terrible. Why can’t they just read the book and not change their voice for each character.
I’m not in kindergarten.
Also the book was super repetitive when it finally got to the court case you had already heard all the testimony .
I would not recommend this book on audible .
