Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

if you care for children, this is a must!
Revisado: 10-26-23
Jennette has provided a in depth look to how a mother can mold you and how "success" can sometimes come at the cost of your true self. She magically paints pictures that transport you into her emotional state and brakes your heart with a flippant acceptance of her reality. Sometimes it you can feel the pain she is relasing, and in the audio, you can hear how she speeds up and slows down thu hard or happy moments.
Inspiration 4 sure! keep it up ! you are perfectly imperfect, and that is amazing! I can't wait for more books from her!!

Historia
Why are women more verbal than men? Why do women remember details of fights that men can't remember at all? Why do women tend to form deeper bonds with their female friends than men do with their male counterparts? These and other questions have stumped both sexes throughout the ages. Now, pioneering neuropsychiatrist Louann Brizendine, M.D., brings together the latest findings to show how the unique structure of the female brain determines how women think and what they value.

Historia
According to the Leisure Studies Department at the University of Iowa, true leisure is “that place in which we realize our humanity.” If that’s true, argues Brigid Schulte, then we're doing dangerously little realizing of our humanity. In Overwhelmed, Schulte, a staff writer for The Washington Post, asks: Are our brains, our partners, our culture, and our bosses making it impossible for us to experience anything but “contaminated time”?

Very real, but upbeat points to the importance of faith that sometimes somehow inspite of all the things that are against us we can still rise succeeding and growing as we grow the world around us!

Historia
The Origins and History of Consciousness draws on a full range of world mythology to show how individual consciousness undergoes the same archetypal stages of development as human consciousness as a whole. Erich Neumann was one of C. G. Jung's most creative students and a renowned practitioner of analytical psychology in his own right. In this influential book, Neumann shows how the stages begin and end with the symbol of the Uroboros, the tail-eating serpent.

Maybe my level of psychological understanding is to low for this book...because as I heard it my brain felt groggy...but by the end of the chapter I sort of got the feeling that it made complete sense...

Historia
You’re Not a Girl in a Movie is a new collection of powerful poems by Hala Alyan, winner of the Arab American Book Award in Poetry and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize. In these nine extraordinary poems, Alyan wrestles with the intimate themes that have driven her acclaimed body of work to date: the aching loss of homeland, the image and worth of women, and the violence of love. In Beirut, Brooklyn, and roads in the American West, she unravels the effects of decades of war and displacement on love and human worth and identity.

it's cathartic, even if she is talking about a different culture than my own. There's still so much that is recognizable, and that makes it mine as it is hers... a shared love to those who love us and the ones who love us back.
