Historia
Oliver Park, a recovering addict from Indiana, finally has everything he ever wanted: sobriety and a loving, wealthy partner in Nathan, a prominent DC trauma surgeon. Despite their difference in age and disparate backgrounds, they've made a perfect life together. With everything to lose, Oliver shouldn't be visiting Haus, a gay bathhouse. But through the entrance he goes, and it's a line crossed. Inside, he follows a man into a private room, and it's the final line. Whatever happens next, Nathan can never know.

21st Century Thriller!
Revisado: 08-10-23
Contemporary, terrifying story with cool gay characters. There are also themes of addiction and money (I had to write 15 words).

Historia
Born under different stars—Mungo a Protestant and James a Catholic—they should be sworn enemies if they’re to be seen as men at all. Their environment is a hyper-masculine and sectarian one, for gangs of young men and the violence they might dole out dominate the Glaswegian estate where they live. And yet against all odds Mungo and James become best friends as they find a sanctuary in the pigeon dovecote that James has built for his prize racing birds.

The book cover says it all. This was a touching love story without the Harlequin Romance cliches.

Clear story about Iraq Vet
Revisado: 12-28-12
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator did not match the author's writing style. The writing and voice of the 28-year-old author did not match the narrator's much older, reserved style of communication. I felt like my Dad was reading me the story. This book feels like a documentary so using the actual voice of the author would have helped convey the story. This book would have been better if the author read his own book.

You've eaten too much candy at Christmas...but have you ever eaten the face off a six-foot stuffed Santa? You've seen gingerbread houses...but have you ever made your own gingerbread tenement? You've woken up with a hangover...but have you ever woken up next to Kris Kringle himself? Augusten Burroughs has, and in this caustically funny, nostalgic, poignant, and moving collection he recounts Christmases past and present - as only he could.

Less Than
Revisado: 09-04-05
I had a difficult time with the author starring as the main character. I thought the Bret Easton Ellis irony, sarcasm, suffering and pain, which I love, were missing in "Lunar Park". None of the original characters from the previous books resurfaces in "Lunar Park" so this one did not feel like part of the nuerotic and narcissistic dynasty. I was not charmed by this one. Maybe I missed something.
