The AI voice
Revisado: 04-12-25
I think this is an informative book, but I really wish I would have just gotten the Kindle version. The AI version is difficult to follow because it's rushed, without the natural cadence a human speaks in. I had to rewind some parts and listen over and over to understand it. It also reads acronyms out like words. For example, Nitrous Oxide is probably printed as NO in the book. So when the chapter on nitrous oxide came up, the voice just kept saying no no no no. It was kind of weird. Seriously though, it was a little difficult to listen to, but I did it. Again, I wish I would have gotten a book or Kindle version so that I could have referred back to it instead of having to take notes. Lesson learned! This was my first AI-read audiobook. I don't think I would do it again.

This book is lovely
Revisado: 03-13-24
This book is lovely! Yes, it has some similarities to movies we've all watched and loved, but in a refreshing way. Also, there's a reason that we love them! :) I felt lighter and happier at the end of the story and wanted to stay in Lucy's life. A little light and happiness is ALWAYS nice.

A little disappointing
Revisado: 02-29-24
I am surprised, but I didn't really like this book at all. One of the main characters, Bree, is unnecessarily mean throughout, and I don't really understand why. She's had a few blows in life, but there's no reason for her to be so incredibly mean. Chip isn't as mean, but for 30- somethings, they are both very immature (and unlikable), I really liked and appreciated their friends and family so much more than them. I think theauthor really worked on the supporting friends and family they have a lot more personality and depth. The ending was rushed and the epilogue was confusing.

Thank you! It has to be so hard to speak to a group of people that obviously has mixed opinions. Whether a person is a Christian or not, they would have to recognize that you are just being open and honest with us. If you are willing to lose subscribers (I hope you don't) for something you believe in deeply, it shows you are a person to be trusted. :)
I really enjoyed hearing a more personal side. Thanks again.

Historia
It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

Revisado: 05-22-23
Thank you for this interview! So many people need to hear this information. When people find out I don't eat vegetables, the first general thing they tell me is that I'm not going to get enough vitamins and my health is going to suffer. I don't even tell anybody anymore because, for some reason, everybody wants to argue with me about it (even though my health has improved exponentially). Lately, I just move vegetables around on my plate and hope they don't say anything to me because I have a hard time explaining the science of it to people with no medical background. This information is plain, clear, and concise, I feel like I can share this and help people understand. Thanks again! :)

Historia
Anna Vere has escaped to the Cotswolds for Christmas to try to heal from her broken engagement and, far worse, her broken dreams. When her reserved room at a bed-and-breakfast is flooded, she takes up the offer of camping out in Willoughby Close, the converted stables of the nearby manor house...and is taken under the wing of sexy local carpenter Colin Heath. What starts out as merely helping a neighbor in need turns into far more as Colin and Anna share a surprisingly intense and emotional connection, weaving their own Christmas magic as they spend the holiday together.

Unlikable heroine
Revisado: 12-09-22
I didn't like the heroin in this story from the beginning. I kept thinking at some point the character would redeem herself. There were about 60 seconds of clarity for her at the very end of the book, but that was far from enough. At the very end of the book, I still didn't want her to end up with the great guy because she definitely didn't deserve it and I felt sorry for him. She desperately needed therapy, not a happily ever after.

Better in original version
Revisado: 10-11-22
The original version (before the movie came out) was called Rosie Dunn. I almost bought this version, but after listening to the sample, remembered I bought it years ago. I just listened to it again and really enjoyed it. There are several people, male and female, reading the original version so it's much easier to understand. In correspondence style, even the sample was hard to follow in this version. I really don't know why they would record it again. Get the original. :)
Just a tip... try to listen to the samples. Most of the time (not every time unfortunately :/), it can save you from wasting a credit.
