Historia
God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

Historia
With war looming dangerously close, Ilse’s school days soon turn to lessons of survival. In the harshness of winter, her family must join the largest exodus in human history to survive. As battle lines are drawn and East Prussia’s borders vanish beneath them, they leave their farm and all they know behind for an uncertain future. But Ilse also has Janusz, her family’s young Polish laborer, by her side. As they flee from the Soviet army, his enchanting folktales keep her mind off the cold, the hunger, and the horrors unfolding around them.

Revisado: 10-25-24
Was a great read and a remarkable listen. Brings a personal perspective to what happens to real people as those in charge simply move pieces around a map. We MUST remember the past in order to see what is coming and prevent it

Historia
Alma Cruz, the celebrated writer at the heart of The Cemetery of Untold Stories, doesn’t want to end up like her friend, a novelist who fought so long and hard to finish a book that it threatened her sanity. So when Alma inherits a small plot of land in the Dominican Republic, her homeland, she has the beautiful idea of turning it into a place to bury her untold stories—literally. She creates a graveyard for the manuscript drafts and revisions, and the characters whose lives she tried and failed to bring to life and who still haunt her.

Revisado: 09-18-24
I am a precept if the story. I'm print, through music, a good audiobook, or even a good binge watch. I've always had moments where these stories continued on... I don't want to give away to much. But, if you live a good story, this is a book for you.

Devastated and Confused
Revisado: 08-10-24
1st, the change in narraor was worst decision ever. not that Ms Erivo is isn't a wonderful actress, she was simply not right for this. Boni Turpin brought life to these characters and this story in such an amazing way and that a change felt like it just obliterated all of the continuity of the first 2 books. It felt like a betrayal. When you have to restart a chapter to figure out the perspective, it destroys the flow of everything and kills the dynamic of the story.
2nd This was utterly exhausting to read or listen to. After 4 years of waiting, we get what should have been a separate, standalone novel of another world and new characters bc there was little to no connection to the brilliant tapestry of storytelling we were accustomed to.
Sorry Tomi, this one was a HUGE disappointment. For the readers, so at Book 2 and just imagine your own ending for the series, I guarantee that this is NOT what it will look like.

Like a dark, old world fable, much like it's predecessor, Hex, Oracle shies you away from what goes bump in the night. It has a different feel for American readers, as the Dutch have a slightly different way of doing things. Definitely read Hex before Oracle though.;)

Not a fan of the Virtual Narration, won't be doing that again
Revisado: 03-27-24
Story held promise, a bit predictable for me in the end. Virtual Narration was distracting and author could benefit from the use of beta Readers to identify inconsistencies and reputation in several areas, surprised editors didn't catch.
Definitely not going on the listen again list.

Brilliant performance and entrancing story of a woman standing up for herself, breaking out of her sheltered life and learning to live and becoming her true self. I'm the beginning, it's hard to imagine possessing the bravery to do what she managed to do, But, as with anything friendship & love make everything possible.

It would have been easy to have written this from a grieving mother's perspective. No, not Joe. It is so seldom that a father's loss is recognized, much less explored. Well DONE!

Revisado: 04-21-23
When I initially read the description (while anxiously awaiting the next installment of Safe Haven) I had my doubts about the genre shift, while it falls in my list of go-to's, I was curious to see how he he would execute his usual character format. Here, here are these people, they Ate a little nuts, but a family in the end... you love who your are supposed to and detest the bad guys. Next thing you know, he decides to flip that on its head. Overall, ending was perfection and very well executed 🤭

Totally confused by earlier reviews
Revisado: 10-06-22
I found the level of drama perfect for the characters, the trauma they had experienced, were experiencing, etc. This definitely is not a light listening book. The story and narrator switch fluidly between characters, news reports, excerpts from FBI files and religious context throughout. everything is relevant and is used to build suspense and an immersive experience within the story. IMO, it is beautifully done and is a perfect melding of the thriller/true crime genre to get this story across.
