Love the book. Bejamin Kerei has a way of keeping things comical and serious, he really captured the perfect balance. I also really like his world building, we are getting an in depth look at another world's magic system and it is wondrous. He really has thought deeply about how vampire powers work biologically, spiritually, and magically in this world and has Vincent use the powers in captivating ways.

My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that it feels like he uses Deus ex Machina alot. For instance we are introduced to professors for the first time when Vincent needs 3 professors at one point in story and Vincent knows everything about them and that they have skills/powers he needs, however they were not introduced in story before this point. I think having the professors as established characters before would have helped the story. This pattern occurs alot for characters introduced such as vampires, abyss creatures, church members, students, etc.

Crazy how SpazZzer keeps growing the scope of the universe. At this point Aeon has progressed to a God above a pantheon of God's however there is still the tension, worry and need for the character to continue his progress with higher stakes than ever.

Super excited to learn more about the system, demons, and the "faith" Gods; also what new an interesting powers will Aeon receive next. I am glued to this series till the end.

I was hoping the series would continue its path of progression, but Seth made a few storytelling missteps in this book.

1.He separated the other main characters from the previous book, so their progression happens off-page or through narration. This results in no growth in team dynamics or relationships. The characters are now full legionnaires, and their training is complete, which feels abrupt and disconnected.

2.The main character (MC) faces no real challenges. He attends training and progresses for the sake of progression, with missions that feel too easy and narratively disconnected from the larger plot. Seth should add layered narrative value to future missions, tying them to legion goals, personal goals, feather goals, Solomon goals, Crow goals, moral dilemmas, and more.

3.The MC becomes the rightful leader of the Iron Legion through a divine ritual, which feels unearned. I expected him to rise and earn his rank organically. Now, the story’s dynamic shifts to others recognizing his already-granted authority, which creates a very different and less engaging arc.

4.The series’ overarching narrative remains unclear. We still don’t know what a Solomon is or why they hold power, making the characters’ progress feel meaningless. Without a defined conflict, such as a looming military problem to justify the MC’s genius, readers are left relying on faith in Seth to deliver later. In Battle Mage, the Apocalypse Points added suspense; this series needs a similar driving force to give the progression purpose.

This series still holds a lot of promise, and I hope Seth addresses these issues in future books. It feels like this installment was primarily a setup for more episodic adventures, with Seth focusing on laying the groundwork for stories he wants to tell later.

Mid tier litrpg, Time Filler worth $7.99

Mid Tier Litrpg, fun time filler but not worth listening too for its own sake. (Only on Second Book so far will update if changes.)

Pros:
-Mage School dynamics akin to "Mother of Learning" and "Mark of The Fool" Series.
-Interesting Magic System based on Bond Relationship with extra-planer beings.
-Competence and Progression of protagonist Damien.

Cons:
-Eldritch Horror "Henry" at beginning is made out to be God tier powerful with apocalyptic powers however this really isn't part of narrative. Henry's powers are more whatever is convenient for Damien but not overpowered, Henry's motives are experiencing earth and humanity. Character needs more depth, consistency and specificity. Because Henry's powers (and motives) aren't defined his powers are pretty much whatever is convenient, Damiens roomate's core is breaking so Henry has powers to fix, Damien must learn so Henry has super reading and fast learning, etc. Also void plane is never explained, is it chaos, cycle of Apocalypse and death, pure evil, nothingness? Why is Void plane OP versus all others?

-We never get to explore anyone elses relationship with their pair bonded being, this could have really made a big difference since just seeing Damien and Henry we can't tell what is special, different or overpowered about them and their relationship. We just see them win and Henry pull out a new power to solve the next problem. Comparison would have been good plot tool. Also inyerations between a Void vs Earth or Water or Air or Star or anything would have really helped define the order of universe and magic relationships.

Great Story but kind of Bland

I listen to alot of Fantasy fiction from dragon riders, wizards, barbarians, kings, vampires, etc. I have at this point heard so many variations and twists on things that it really takes alot of originality to surprise me and hold interest. I had hopes with this since the cover art you can see a blind dragon. However the story kind of plays out like another dragon rider story where a peasant boy comes of age as a dragon rider. Frankly there is not much that distinguishes this from any other Dragonrider clone series and it plays out predictably. The characters are all super predicatble also from the Mentor with scarred past, the virtuous princess who overcomes her arrogance in relationship with mc, and the innocent peasant boy who saves the world with his heart of gold and coming of age. I think just with details of last sentence you could predict the whole novel.

That said I do not have a big problem with staying true to archetypes in novels. It just does not stand out to me as something unique or special.

I think it I was still in my teens and this was one of my first dragon rider books I would be fascinated.

If you.are at this point in series you know Jon Sutton is an unkillable eternal God with his own dimension cintaining multiple worlds and a gang of supporters lthat have fearsome God like powers just below his own tier. Also John has saved his world from likr 9 apocakupses, became leader of higher planes mage school.

So with all this power it is kind of like Goku going from Super Saiyan to Super Super Saiyan. Seeing John raise himself to Godhood was cool but becoming a zuper God is kind of not as suspenseful. I still am commited and the series is in my top 5 for litrpg however I hope Seth has a plan to give series and John a good ending.

The setup of story is rushed and there really is no purpose or drive behind the main character.

It is just a random dude who dies and instantly gets into character setup and thrown into a party of dungeon delvers. There isn't anything of substance to hold attention to the story. Frankly you are left not caring about any outcome of MC since there is no story, or character setup for anything.

The series consistently delivers engaging stories and a captivating magic system with each installment. I appreciate how Honour Rae develops the characters while simultaneously escalating the challenges they encounter; this creates a perfect balance of suspense and narrative progression. Furthermore, the world-building and magic system are incredibly intriguing, with the gradual revelation of the world's mysteries through carefully placed hints throughout the story.

I am fully invested in this series and have already ranked it among my top five, alongside Will Wight's "Cradle" and Seth Ring's "Battle Mage Farmer." Series like these are the reason I am passionate about the LitRPG genre

We are in book 7 but the Generasi crew has been in school.2 years and are already more powerful then many of their.professors. Felt this made characters feel too overpowered with first half olot points. However with the second half focusing on Thamdland and Oldar it once again limits the heroes and outs everything in perspective. Tbe ending .ade.the book for me however there still are many questionz the reader is left with at end of book. Hoping JM Vlarke has the plot to live up to what he setup for the next book. I am definitely in it for the end!

Its fun.

Its not the same as the series though. The series the events have the added emotional weight and suspense of being invested Lindon as a character. Now that we are in happy ever after ending for Lindon and these are short story glimpses at the past events where we already know the outcome and focuses on tertiary characters and villains its just not as gripping as original series.

I am glad Will released this though.
