Historia
A dark, compelling new thriller from best-selling authors Sarah A. Denzil and Anni Taylor. Young backpackers Gemma and Hayley arrive at a remote fruit farm in Australia’s Northern Territory, out of money and desperate for work. The weeks go on, a blur of fruit picking, parties, campfires and wading beneath waterfalls in the nearby hot springs. Until the night the girls find themselves on a dark highway, bruised and bloodied. Senior Detective Bronwen McKay and psychologist Megan Arlotti question the terrified girls.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-06-20
This book has some elements of being a really good story but the detectives are so slow and stupid that it ruins the flow. I found myself being impatient that they were so obtuse, Then some of the final scenes were really drawn out trying to give the story some drama, but it all fell a little flat for me.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

Great Book, fast read
Revisado: 07-14-19
This book is a fascinating account of Cavanaugh‘s confirmation. Stayed up most of the night finishing it, page turner. It is so discouraging that politics has gotten so brutal with very few men or women with a sense of honor. While not being shocked by Chuck Schumer, I was shocked by Diane Feinstein’s words and actions in this matter. The end justifies the means philosophy of so many politicians and the media is why I no longer watch the news, although I used to be a total news and political junkie.

Historia
First published in 1952, Witness came on the heals of America's trial of the century, in which Whittaker Chambers accused Alger Hiss, a full-standing member of the political establishment, of spying for the Soviet Union. In this penetrating philosophical memoir, Chambers recounts the famous case as well as his own experiences as a Communist agent in the United States, his later renunciation of communism, and his conversion to Christianity.

Miscast Narrator
Revisado: 07-28-18
I could not enjoy this book, because the narrator’s voice seemed all wrong for the main character. Too old, wrong accent, inflections. This made it hard to emphasize with the main character, but maybe that was the way it was written,

Thought this was a very engaging memoir with great narration by the author. Loved reading about his life adventures and ruminations on God. Seemed honest and oh so humorous! Can't remember when I laughed out loud so many times while reading one book. Was so sorry when it was over!

Narrator takes away from story
Revisado: 11-01-16
This story was good, but a little violent for my taste. I thought the action moved quite fast but the narrator took away from my enjoyment of the story. I really do not like the way he reads female voices. Even the male voices take away the excitement and sense of urgency.

Celebrating ruthless people
Revisado: 08-13-16
While this book is very clever, the main characters are truly horrible and the book celebrate for that. Kept reading for some redemption at the end but it just ramps up. Regret time reading this.

Not the best!
Revisado: 08-03-16
I was predisposed to like this book, but I really didn't like the narrators voice for Wallender. Very distracting. Linda's character is so focused on herself that it becomes tedious and she acts so stupidly towards the end of the book that I couldn't really care what happened to her. Hope other Wallender books are better.

It took FBI agent Vince Leone and a new technique called profiling" to put an end to the trauma. Now Hoag returns once more to Oak Knoll for the third installment of this best-selling series.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-13-16
First book up Tami Hoag's that I have not enjoyed. Slow and boring not all that much action lot of angst from a not very sympathetic character. Would end up fast forwarding through some of her ruminations and how bad things have been.

He is used to the way of horses, too; but nothing has prepared him for the special connection he will forge with Gabilan, the hot-tempered pony his father gives him. With Billy Buck, the hired hand, Jody tends and trains his horse, restlessly anticipating the moment he will sit high upon Gabilan's saddle. But when Gabilan falls ill, Jody discovers there are still lessons he must learn about the ways of nature and, particularly, the ways of man.
