I went into this story completely blind. That was my fault. Had I known if was a romantic suspense, I may have been prepared for the extremely convoluted story line, overwhelming amount of characters and their roles in the overall plot line.

I really did enjoy Blake and Hutch with their tension filled past and obvious chemistry that lingered over a decade. I thought they were the perfect fit for each other. I even liked Blake's troubled younger sister Hana, Hutch's right-hand man Scar and the spitfire little niece Pepper. I could do without just about all of the other side characters who brought nothing but snooty drama. I understand their necessity but they were absolutely unlikable.

The storyline was intriguing and defintely kept me interested. The ending fell a little flat for me and felt quite unresolved. I know there's a book 2 already, so that helped give me a little peace of mind from that aspect.

Listened to this book on audio. I really like both narrators but I cannot stand Samantha Brentmoor's vocalization of the male character's dialogue. It grates on my nerves and honestly makes me cringe. For that, this book lost some of the appeal.

Beck and Carly's story about second chances and small town first loves was so sweet! Beckham was the hot doctor and Carly was the super smart criminal psychologist. Their careers were clearly important to them, but both were dealing with baggage that came with the job and drama that threw them both back into their tiny coastal hometown. I truly enjoyed both characters and loved their history together at teens and young adults. I thought the way they ended up back in the same place after all these years was a great way to force them to hash out their old feelings and deal with their past issues. The steam in this read was off the charts! There was just enough drama in this story to keep you entertained but it wasn't thrown in there just for the heck of it. I actually enjoyed the entire storyline surrounding Alize as well. It showed how compassionate and empathetic Carly was towards her patients. I adored the ending of this book and I really hope Tia Louise makes some spin off stories for Henry/Libby and Jessica!!!

I listened to this book on audio, which was narrated by Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor. I loved Troy's narration of the male MC and I liked Samantha for the female MC but I didn't like Samantha's attempt at the male voice. It just didn't sound right and was kind of cringey. I received a complimentary audiobook from the author for review.

I adored this couple! Deacon was so sweet and attentive. Caris was wise beyond her years and an incredible mother. Deacon’s relationship with Sunny warmed my heart so much! I really liked the story and found it to be enjoyable from start to finish!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! From cover to cover I was captivated and wrapped up in Annie's life and hoping for a HEA for her and her kids.

The drama was real, the emotions were high and the feelings were deep. This story about broken, shattered and very pregnant Annie and her determination to pick up the pieces of her life after the loss of her boyfriend just pulled on my heart strings and made me want her to succeed and find the happiness she deserved.

Sometimes all it takes is the kindness of a stranger to help you get back on your feet and survive another day. Sometimes that stranger happens to be your older, sexy, next-door neighbor!

The relationship that developed between Jones and Cole was so sweet and melted my heart! Cole was such a positive and strong role model for Annie's young son and proved to her that honest, goodhearted men do still exist.

The epilogue wrapped up the story so nicely and left me smiling and never wanting it to end!

Sofia Willingham did an incredible job of narrating Annie’s character. I wasn’t a fan of Mason Lloyd for Cole though. He just didn’t have the gruff, younger voice I envisioned for the character. But overall the narration was good.

5 stars!!! This book hit me in the feels so darn hard! I absolutely loved the message that Kandi Steiner was trying to get across with Natalie and her body image issues. I fell madly in love with Rhodes and his unsuspecting charm and dedication. The pair were electric and left me feeling dizzy and smiling! The dramatic twists and suspense left me feeling anxious and worried. I loved it and hated it. I couldn't put this book down and never wanted it to end, all at the same time. This is one of those books that changes you. It takes a piece of you when you set it back on the shelf. I'll forever be changed after reading this novel. It spoke to me on such a personal level and I'm so thankful to Kandi for writing such a profound character like Natalie and speaking the truth about women and their bodies, especially women who are not picture perfect and have more to grab onto.

Marie Mitchell did a great job bringing Natalie and Rhodes to our ears. I enjoyed her narration and thought the book was wonderfully done on audio. My only issue was that there were extremely long pauses between chapters that made me worry the book had stopped.

Quite an interesting short story. I loved the connection that the prince and the troll forged over daily coffees. But, the story was so darn sad!!!!! I was fully prepared for a little HEA and didn’t get it! 😭

Penn’s sarcasm and innuendos were just as funny as I knew they’d be. I thought Avery was such a sweet character with a lot of maturity and heart.

This book was a pretty easy and breezy read with a ton of small town charm. The characters were fun and light hearted. There were a few deep, emotional moments shared between the hero and heroine that really worked for the story. Especially the smack upside the back of Penn’s head at the end. Penn was certainly more than meets the eye, but only someone like Avery was lucky enough to see it. I liked the way the characters navigated their feelings and learned a lot about themselves along the way. The ending was cute and a satisfying HEA.

Listened to this book on audio. I couldn’t stand the male narrator! He was completely wrong for Penn’s character because he sounded way too old. Didn’t sound nearly laid back and care free enough either. Female narrator was great and saved the book.

A sweet small-town romance. I liked the characters just fine but I felt like something was missing the entire story. Things were just too good between them right from the jump. The book was humorous and endearing. A few steamy scenes to help the romance along. A solid 3 star book for me. I truly only read it because I wanted to get to Penn’s story but not have FOMO if I skipped this one.

The narration for this story was great! The southern accents were believable and both narrators really brought the characters to life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STARS

“The love we share is powerful enough to burn away the bad. It’s bright enough to guide us home through the darkest times, and it’s warmth melted the ice that had formed around my heart.”

I really enjoyed this chaotic and exciting story. J.R. and Hope were complete opposites but their differences were what drew them to each other. I really liked J.R.’s character and his drive to fix the wrongs that happened to him. He clearly adored his son and wanted to make things right for his young child.

Hope was so sweet and charismatic. She was lost after her restaurant had to close down and her father was isolated in a temporary nursing home. Wandering and confused until she crossed paths with J.R. and his brother Scout.

Their cross county road trip was funny, adventurous and stressful! I loved the connection that they formed along the way. Scout and Hope had a fun banter between them, always joking around and sharing stories. The sexual tension between John and Hope was palpable! No matter how much they fought the urges, they were meant to cross the line with each other.

Nothing was easy for any of the characters in the story. They were all fighting an “eternal hill”! Constantly battling against the injustices of life and love. It seemed as though anything that could go wrong... did. But the characters kept pushing forward no matter how hard it got and eventually triumphed.

While I didn’t enjoy the setting of the book taking place during the pandemic, I did like that the author didn’t dwell on too many nuances of quarantine life.

I loved the cameo by Stephen Hastings! It’s always so fun to see beloved characters from other Tia Louise books make appearances!

Narration by Jason Clarke and Samantha Broadmoor was perfect for J.R. and Hope. They brought excitement and longing to the characters and Eve some much needed humor.

What a sweet holiday story!!! I really enjoyed the characters and the unrequited love story that brewed between them. Rachel was loyal to a fault and Oz was blinded by his desire for success. I really liked the author’s writing style and found this book quite humorous in all the right places. I loved the HEA and epilogue.

The narration was amazing!
