Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

dry narration
Revisado: 08-18-24
she talks too much. good book, but too much narration about extraneous things. extremely dry read. nuclear attacks are spoken of in the same tone as ordering lunch at a diner. could have accomplished the same thing without about a third of the bs.

"His power flooded into dead flesh, forcing it to move. The flesh remembered how to work, and as Lyre commanded, limbs obeyed. Back muscles contracted, the spine snapped straight. Lyre fed more and more power into his Risen and imparted but one order: to kill." Hated and feared for their magic, Necromancers have been hunted to extinction- or so it was believed. After ten years of isolation, Lyre Asterisian escapes an enchantment containing the ruin of his town and plunges into a plagued world on the verge of war. Lyre is forced to develop his unique powers and uses Necromancy in ingenious ...

God awful narration
Revisado: 06-09-24
A good story needs a good storyteller. this does not have one. This AI narrator has all the brightness and zeal of a day old bowl of oatmeal. it is like listening to Alexa drone through LOTR. Painful, actually. My 5 yo could do a better job with Horton hears a who. whoever told this author that this was a good idea must have been deaf. the story itself could well be epic, on paper. But this "Narrator" ruins the entire book. get the printed version and save yourself the torture of listening to this thing.

Revisado: 06-05-22
The story is ok. the narration was mediocre. but the really bad part was that the book was so slow. If books are food for the mind, this one was pure junk food. Think gas station sushi.

Boring
Revisado: 12-30-21
The book starts. The book ends. Pick any point in-between and you wouldn't even know the difference. It is all the same chapter, regardless of which chapter is actually is. Apparently, the author just wrote the same chapter over and over again, changing the names a little. This book could have been 2 hrs without losing a thing. In fact, the book sounds lik it took 2 hrs to write, edit, record and produce. Narrator never changes his inflection, whether he is fighting to the death, or having a cup of Joe. This book is awful . Would give it 0 stars if I could. Garbage book. My 9 yo granddaughter could have done more with less. Shameful $ grab.

Revisado: 12-05-21
I really tried to like this book. I thought it had real potential. unfortunately, I found it slow to the point of boredom. The MC was likeable enough, but just plodded through. Worst of all was the narrator, who sounded like she was reading a library book to a bunch of third graders.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 04-09-21
I am finding this story very hard to finish. In all honesty, I can't decide whether the story is just mediocre, or whether it is just a result of the poor narration. The book is slow as molasses in the winter time , and the narration is horrible . Either way, I really don't know if I can get through this book. The narration is truly terrible. Sounds like someone off the street just reading a book out loud. All the voices sound the same, the inflections are those of a grammar school child just learning to read. I just can't say anything else about this book.

Money grab
Revisado: 03-23-21
The story is Well written But formulaic at best. To make matters worse, the author Seems to have decided That 1 book for the price of 2 was the way to go here. This would be undesirable even if the books were excellent. Unfortunately the they aren't that good to begin with. As a rule, I would continue the series anyway, But I don't feel that such blatant greed should be rewarded. Personally, Until such time as the author decides to put out some publisher packs , I am pretty much done with this series. Bloody shame Since the narrator is the best part of this series and deserved better from the Author. Will Wight he ain't.

Bad narrative

story was decent, but something about the narrator just grated on me. Still, I will listen to the next book. The story wasn't half bad. Perhaps the speaker will put more life into the story.

Terrible quality
Revisado: 01-07-20
To start with, I have only given the story one star because of the terrible quality of this book. And by that I don't mean the quality of the story I mean the quality of the recording. Chapter 3 and 4 are impossible to listen to. Seems like every other word is missing. It is absolutely terrible. I'd love to hear this book when it was fixed, but for now I don't think I can get past chapter 4.
