Historia
Prosecutor Jessie Black has an airtight case against Tyrone Nash, a gang thug who shot a man behind a bar in West Philly. But what should be an easy trial turns complicated when Nash somehow intimidates her eyewitness, and he recants his testimony on the eve of the trial. Now Jessie's only move to stop the killer from walking is to call a witness she had hoped to avoid - Reggie Tuck, a smooth-talking jailhouse snitch who claims Nash confessed to him during a short time they shared a cell.

Love the Series
Revisado: 09-13-24
This was difficult to stop listening to. It filled with plot twists, intense moments with no obvious idea of outcome. One negative was when the scene and characters changed it was not obvious to tell at first. It became easier once you got to know the characters.

Historia
Jessie Black's successful prosecution of a serial murderer and rapist put her on the path to stardom at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. Public defender Jack Ackerman represented the opposition, and his spectacular public breakdown after the trial put him in a mental institution and gave Frank Ramsey a second chance at freedom. When Ramsey petitions the court for a new trial with a claim that Ackerman was ineffective, Black must step up to defend him.

Enjoyed listening to this audiobook…very difficult to put down. Moved very quickly from scene to scene. Sometimes it was hard to tell the characters were different.

Surprised Ending

Good story hard to put down. Intense violence could be trigger for some. Not a courtroom drama but does in a law firm’s lawyers and its owners. Narrator was suited for main characters.

Great Story

The story was well written and it captured my interest right away. The virtual narrator was not the best but not bad either. It’s worth listening to if you like legal courtroom dramas.

Historia
Defense attorney Brad Madison is barely Facebook literate. He doesn't understand Instagram. He couldn't name a YouTube channel to save his life. To him, social media is a remote, irrelevant universe. But that's about to change. It's set to crash through his life like a runaway freight train. When a young YouTube star is shot dead and seventeen-year-old Demarco Torrell is accused, Madison feels obliged to take the case. Demarco is the son of a Marine buddy who was killed in action, and Madison will do whatever it takes to keep "Tank" Torrell's boy alive.

Great Legal Thriller
Revisado: 08-03-24
Love the story line, if you like or love legal courtroom dramas, you’ll love it too. The narration was perfect for the characters. The writing is reminiscent of the Lincoln Lawyer. This is the second book by this writer and second book in this series that I’ve listened to and enjoyed very much. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Love the Series
Revisado: 06-30-24
The series has everything a great writer imagination could write about…love and respect for God and family, human tragedy, crime, wealth without God and wealth with God, giving of oneself for other, falling in love and a happily ever after. Narrator was perfect for the character. Only downside was how quickly the story ended. Would liked to see the courtroom drama of the criminals trial.

Historia
I wasn’t looking for love. Putting down roots in this small, Southern town was the last thing on my mind. Ben changed all that with his kind nature and gentle ways. Somehow, he painted over the cracks on the canvas of my heart. Never did I feel more alive than with my arms around his waist on the back of his motorcycle and my hair blowing in the wind. But I was a nobody. To his family of wealth and privilege, I wasn’t worthy of him. And they were willing to do whatever it took to drive us apart.

Beautiful and heartbreaking
Revisado: 06-20-24
Great story of new love and heartbreak. Love the relationships that developed after tragedy. It would have been understandable to blame and hate certain individuals but instead she chose to forgive and love them. Great narrators.

Main Character???
Revisado: 05-28-24
Coroner Review
I liked the story…but had a hard time listening to the main character every time she got drunk and popped pills. She had an important professional city government job and was in the midst of conducting an extremely dangerous investigation. She was in danger because of the investigations yet she put herself in vulnerable position every time she took more pills and drank more wine than she should. She acted more like a high schooler than a professional.

The Jury Did its Job...and Everyone Else's Job, too. What happens when a new jury is made up of jaded members? Some of them have sat on juries where the bailiff or a policeman stuck his head in the door and gave them information that was barred in court. Or maybe the government uses a fake tape recording to convict someone, and the jury decides to get hold of the original tape and see what's changed. Or maybe a judge has agreed to help the government because he's under audit by the IRS and facing criminal tax charges. All of these things can and do happen. Pity the poor defense attorney ...

AI Narrator Ruin Story
Revisado: 04-16-24
Narrator made it hard to follow the story from one character to another or the change from one scenario to the next. Had to go back and re-listen to understand what was going on in the story. The story could have been a 5 if narrator was able to change nuance of character or action.
