I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am familiar with the movement but was needing help in articulating myself. This book helped me be able to do that.

The performance is excellent. This book is short and to the point. I recommend everyone read this book at least once.

As an Indigenous woman, Western psychology will always be behind. The author has an overwhelming bias and world view that leans so heavily Eurocentric it’s distracting. The author never challenges the way sexism and racism impact and traumatize people but instead focuses on the acute and specific. He references a historical fallacy when discussing trials in South Africa. He states the court leaned with grace and compassion rather than, and I quote “An orgy of revenge which so often happens.” Literally when has that ever happened? When has an oppressed group lashed out this way? Sometimes an oppressed group fights for their survival but I wouldn’t call that revenge. This book is not a bad gateway but please do not stop here when looking into trauma and somatic responses.

Well written and entertaining. This book is full of incredible citations. I needed this book. I’m at a point in my life where I would like to experience motherhood but the number of children is still up for debate. Slowly over time the idea of an only child became appealing to me. This book helped me understand more about parenting a child without siblings. Currently I’m debating between having 1 or having 2. I felt comforted by this book and informed. There’s no wrong number of children a family can have and a family is complete without or with a child in it.

I loved the delivery the digestible nature of the story telling and I loved content. I am an Indigenous woman not Samoan but Native American and every aspect of this book resonated with me and my culture. The very story telling structure is so Indigenous I was eating it up. I felt myself get teary a few times. I bought my mom a copy, my mom is not Indigenous but I think she will love it. I’m into the radical perspectives of many intersectional feminists but Drew’s book is more present it’s less academic and more personal. I recommend this book to anyone just finding their voice for the first time. I feel seen by Drew and her content and this book made me feel understood.

With a similar energy to the films “Yo Ho Ho,” “The Princess Bride” and “The Fall” this is a story within the story. I loved the alternative power of the Moondrop Flower. The characters were true to the original. I found the beginning to be slow but the middle and end to be entertaining and exciting. The source material is a beloved film but not my all time favorite films so I couldn’t fully enjoy the book the same way I do with my specific favorites. This was wonderful and I think would be even better if Tangled is a readers personal favorite.

A needed book for our time or anytime. Clearly the author can’t cover every example of facism but he does an amazing job pointing out how it appears in the US. I couldn’t stop listening it was entertaining and educational.

I’ve been a Dr Steven Hassan fan since his first book, Combating Cult Mind Control helped save my life. This book is excellently written and read by Dr Hassan. This book is still very relevant and even some recent global events were alluded to in the book without any hyper specifics. The book is entertaining and educational. Dr Hassan gives evidence and an action plan and suggestions. Essentially this book has it all. The information he provides on narcissism is useful in a variety of circumstances as well. Hassan also sites his sources so you can do your own research if so inclined.

As a therapist this was a book I knew I needed. Logotherapy certainly has its place with other modalities of therapy. I chose to read this book because I needed to know how people live through atrocities. In the 1980’s my mother worked in a refugee camp in Southeast Asia. I grew up with a knowledge of the wars and mass killings from all over the world. The triumph of the human spirit will never cease to amaze me. Every paragraph of this book is noteworthy. I could take an entire class just on this book and Logotherapy. Specific parts of this book are very hard to get through. I didn’t realize it but I found myself crying while listening just naturally tearing up. I loved this book and will listen again, maybe not to the first part again but for sure his writing on Logotherapy.

This is way more about the Blue Fairy and her intertwining with the story of Pinocchio. I found myself deeply emotionally invested, it almost gave me anxiety. This is beautifully written and it kept me listening.
