It’s was ok - slower than the first.

Overall it kept the story going. Though it was a slower pace with lots of build up and then jumped to another area. Not sure if the flow and pacing were exciting like others said. Not sure if I want to spend a credit for the next one.

Joe is getting his wish to learn his skills

Good book still in the style of the universe. Joe spends most of it setting up his town, figuring out how to talk to people (little bit of existential crisis over past relationships and betrayals leading up to the culmination of the book). Yes I agree with others. I’m not so interested in civil engineering and taxes but a new town has to have these so Joe gets to learn some before he can find someone to foist that on. Most of the action comes later. It is not as smooth a transition to civil engineering to peace talk or war but it was still good.

Fun read with more flirt than sex scenes

This is a fun read - has enough action and flirting to hold anyones interest. The plot is convincing enough - not very deep with mostly the 2 diverging storylines that join towards the end. Not a lot of other plot lines going but that makes it a fun and easy read. This was perfect for my plane ride. Distraction but not too hot. If you are someone that likes a flirt heavy rather than intimate action heavy read this is for you. The story is female reluctant War hero vs spy Diplomat enemy war hero that need to stop their governments from restarting the war. There are many hanging threads left at the end with our 2 characters that are not explored (mostly female leads “special” skill and it’s purpose) but otherwise it seems that the author is switching to another crew mate for the next book. I can’t wait to see how this story evolves.

Love these books and the narrator

I love this series and the narrator really makes it for me. He is so talented. The new levels of the game are so interesting. The idea that the NPCs switch sides was pretty cool. I cant wait to see what happens next.

Cute story. Though the ending requires suspended reality

Its a cute read. Story is full of sweet innuendos and romantic teasing. Nice and light read though the way they ended it - while sweet - required a suspension of reality. No one is THAT nice. Story had a nice pace and was cute. I could read the author again for a nice beach read.

Brings you back to the universe - barely

It is a nice fun book - not as deep as her previous series. Not as much story as skating on the dark and dangerous motif of the past series. Still fun for a cold afternoon read. I will probably give the next book a try when Im bored. Not a must buy now need as before.

Cute and light hearted fairy tale romance

Its a cute romance - a librarian, guy under a curse and some power hungry wizards after a queen-making amulet slipped to the library. Cute. Reminds me a bit of the Spear of Destiny Librarian movie.

Predictable an watered down alpha male and just an “OK” listen.

I love alien alpha males. Have read many of the series offered and was looking forward to a new one. Overall it was an ok listen. Zar was a gladiator lion man- but he was just a watered down version of an alpha male. Anya was more of the leader and he was her sidekick that kicked butt because she was a weak woman and not a warrior. Ugh if that is what they based the idea of alpha male. There were lots of characters but they didn’t develop them - seems the plan to make more of this series. They should have spent more time developing this story rather than planning on multiple short books. It’s a short listen that just seems lackluster and just OK. I’d wait for a bundle offer for this one if you are interested in it. It isn’t worth a full credit to listen too it’s just ok. I don’t plan to get the next one in the series and am bummed as I had such hopes for another series to listen to on a chilly, snowy night.
