Historia
Of the five contenders for power, one is dead, another in disfavor, and still the wars rage. Joffrey sits on the Iron Throne, the uneasy ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. His most bitter rival, Lord Stannis, stands defeated and disgraced, victim of the sorceress who holds him in her thrall. Young Robb still rules the North from the fortress of Riverrun. Meanwhile, making her way across a blood-drenched continent is the exiled queen, Daenerys, mistress of the only three dragons left in the world.

WORST NARRATOR IN HISTORY
Revisado: 06-20-22
I love this book. I love this series. But they couldn't afford a narrator who can remember to pronounce names like Brienne the same way every time? This guy has at least 5 different pronunciations through the series- Bree-enn, Bry-ene, Brian (I swear to God), Brinn. And that's just one example. 14 year old future queen sounds like a 100 year old crone. All the wrong voices for all the wrong characters. The ONLY thing this guy does well is the actual narration. HIS voice is great. His voices and cognition are 1/10, across the board HORRIBLE

Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Let a pro read it. Great book, terrible performance
Revisado: 02-05-20
Loved the story and thought it was well written and laid out. The terrible performance overshadowed it though. His decision to do impressions of people and their accents was baffling. In almost all cases the impressions were bad, in many they were insulting. And the choice to do a non-specific Eastern European accent in relation to text messages? Baffling. Final straw. Would read his books any time, would never listen to one he narrates again under any circumstances

Historia
Outcast and exiled, the demon Tarrik Nal-Valim has long been forgotten by the world of humans. At least, so he thinks. But when he is summoned as a last resort by a desperate sorcerer, it seems as though his past has caught up with him. The sorcerer is Serenity “Ren” Branwen, the daughter of Tarrik’s former master - and friend. Though she seems cold, driven, and ruthless, Tarrik can tell Ren has her back against a wall, and he is compelled by ferocious powers to obey her.

Is there an director?
Revisado: 12-28-19
This story was great and the narrator’s voice is nice too, but holy crap, did anyone pay attention to his performance before release? SO many mispronounced words make it one cringe moment after the next. Yikes. I’ll be avoiding books by this performer in the future, while looking for more by this author (as long as they’re performed by someone else)

Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

Loved the story. Ann Dowd & BD Howard we’re both great. Didn’t LOVE (or hate) Mae Whitman, but some of her mispronunciations made me cringe. Isn’t there a director for that?

Pretty good
Revisado: 06-01-18
I enjoyed the story and related to it, having lived in both Seoul and Jakarta. It did get a bit preachy (we’re not all bible bangers) and when he complained about being away from his wife ad nauseam I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes. I lived this my whole childhood (through no choice of my own). It’s not that hard. Sort of soured me on an otherwise interesting and good book

A blueprint. A bible. What Sun Tzu’s Art of War was to ancient China, Pimp is to the streets. As real as you can get without jumping in, this is the story of Iceberg Slim’s life as he saw, felt, tasted, and smelled it. It is a trip through hell by the one man who lived to tell the tale—the dangers of jail, addiction, and death that are still all too familiar for today’s Black community. By telling the story of one man’s struggles and triumphs in an underground world, Pimp shows us the game doesn’t change; it just has a different swagger.

With all the 30s/40s slang, the glossary would have been so much more helpful at the front in an audiobook situation where you can’t just flip to the back and look when you’re unsure of a term

Books 1, 2, and the prequel novella of the Fate's Forsaken series. The series follows the adventures of Kael: a young man who is thrust from his home in the Unforgivable Mountains and onto a hero's path. The journey is long, the battles are fierce - nearly all of his companions are outlaws. And Kael's rotten bad luck seems to make everything worse. This is his story.

Revisado: 07-04-17
How is it that our second main character, the most beautiful woman in the world, sounds like a 90 year old male wizard. Other, smaller, female characters sound feminine. Is there no director? The story was so good, but I'm having trouble staying with the series due to this voice

But Alan, a college student pursuing a now-useless degree, cares little about all of this. He has only one thing on his mind: the Game. A fully immersive virtual reality, the Game appears to be a major part of the invading civilization. Alan can't wait to play, recklessly diving into the digital universe. Soon though, Alan realizes the Game is anything but simple, and the stakes are higher than he ever imagined.

ESL?
Revisado: 04-28-17
Enjoy the story (though it DOES share a lot of similarities with Armada) but is this translated from some other language? The author doesn't know the difference between "beside" and "besides". As in the "it happened right besides him" that along with all the "forwards" nearly ruined this story for me. Editor, where you at Dawg?
