Historia
Perturabo - master of siegecraft and the executioner of Olympia. Long has he lived in the shadow of his more favoured primarch brothers, frustrated by the mundane and ignominious duties which regularly fall to his Legion. When Fulgrim offers him the chance to lead an expedition in search of ancient and destructive xenos weaponry, the Iron Warriors and the Emperor's Children unite and venture deep into the heart of the great star maelstrom that haunts Perturabo's dreams.

Great Story!
Revisado: 04-02-25
Came following Fulgrims path, but came out loving Perturabo, what a great character. All of the story was great, and the narrator made a great job at interpretation of the characters. Loved this audiobook.

Great story to know the beginning
Revisado: 12-05-24
This is the book to start the Horus Heresy, others stories have different paths, like battles and primarchs. But to fully understand the beginning of the Heresy, one must look at the Word Bearers.
Not a fan of their Legion or their primarch, but after listening to their story, I have become more understanding of their reasons. Custodes brothers will not like this, but it is a reminder of how all were betrayed and we will not forget their sacrifice.
The narration is easy to understand and the voices are well interpreted.
I enjoyed it overall.

Very good 30K novel
Revisado: 09-27-24
I must say I was not expecting another novel like Thousand Sons to be that great, but Fulgrim has surpassed my expectations. I came more looking for Fulgrims turned to traitor, but I found a lot more of what happened. The narrator does a great job portraying a lot of characters, and you can understand him well. All in all 5 Stars, would listen to it again.

Historia
Of all the Emperor’s sons who fell to Chaos, it is perhaps Magnus the Red whose tale is the most tragic. Sanctioned because of his desire for knowledge, chastised, judged, and shattered to his very elements – there is much for the Crimson King to feel vengeful for. Yet revenge is not the only thing that draws him to Terra alongside the Warmaster’s besieging armies. He seeks something, a fragment, the missing piece of himself that lies within the most impregnable place on the planet – the inner sanctum of the Imperial Palace.

Very touching story
Revisado: 05-04-23
Very good story from the beginning, I always wondered if Magnus "confronted" his father after his planet was burned.
At the start is a bit confusing on what his plans are, but once they are INSIDE the palace (the only ones to breach it) the story is very touching.
I was in tears when his father tells him he will forgive him.
The narration was good and consistent with the other books, so you don't lose the needle in the haystack.
I understood all of the dialogs and enjoyed it very much. Hope this helps making the choice to finally know what happens in the Throne Room, between Magnus and his Father.

Good story and well narrated
Revisado: 04-14-23
Another Cain adventure. Although I felt the other novel was more catching, once Necrons appeared I was very excited. I have played vs them on the tabletop and they are scary.
I enjoyed the narration and personification of the characters.
Good Cain story, he is now my favorite character in 40K.

Historia
Removed from the concerns of the galaxy at large and regarding the Warmaster's unfolding Heresy with cold detachment, he has dedicated his hollow existence to the preservation of all the knowledge once held in the great libraries of Tizca, should mankind ever seek such enlightenment again. But his sons can see the change in their primarch - he is a broken soul whose mind and memories are slipping away into the tumult of the warp.

It's ok if you like Thousand Sons
Revisado: 01-26-23
The story is kind of meh, a lot of the storyline is very fragmented and you get lost between parts. Sometimes I would not understand what was going on.
If they had start with them bringing Magnus back, then it would be an interesting story, but all they did was gather their father, and the book ends at the best part, when he is back and decides to go to Terra.
The performance reading was ok, I wished it had a bit more different voices, but it's hard to make multiple in such a book filled with characters.
Overall it was fine, I only wished it had understood some parts.

New to 40k, great place to start
Revisado: 11-26-22
I was painting some Astra Militarum when I found out about the Commisar Cain. I must say that with limited knowledge of 40k lore, I managed to enjoy the narrative and story.
I am now in love of this character that shows normal human behavior and is the most valiant of them all. I will continue the series in due time.

I loved the story
Revisado: 11-13-22
I really liked the story of the Thousand Sons, I had a lot of questions and this has solved many of them.
The performance was good but as many have said, Magnus voice could have been a bit stronger. Although the Emperors voice gave me the chills, I enjoyed it a lot.

The Imperial Guard are the backbone of the Imperium’s military strength. While the Space Marines get all the glory, it’s the guard that holds back the tide of threats that would soon drown the Imperium by sheer weight of numbers. These audio dramas bring you into their tanks, platoons and trenches to see how ordinary men and women face the horrors of the 41st Millennium.

I really liked it, even when I'm new to 40k
Revisado: 10-04-22
It was very enjoyable and the stories are short and some leave you wanting more. The only thing I didn't liked is that Audible decided to clumsy divide the chapters, so there is a new story, but the chapter is still the past story.
Apart from that, the performance was pretty good, the sound effects brought it to life. I will buy more of these audiobooks, they are enjoyable and I learn more of 40k.
