This was a quick horror story that my wife and I listened to while we did chores. it was nice to have on in the back ground. Kind of a struggle to put together towards the end.

Great follow up to Lolita

This book was not what I expected. I am pleased to have recently read Lolita earlier this year so being able to connect the two fiction and non fiction story lines was interesting and sad. This book is incredibly sad and triggering. I am reading this for book club and have already had two people in the group say they can't finish it. This book is also terrifying as I have a young child and could not imagine the horror of her being kidnapped and abused this way. I can definitely see this book being a difficult read for anything with children.

I enjoyed Ed Harris narration of this Condensed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels esque story. I couldn't also stop thinking of Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. if you have approximately 1 hour... give this one a listen :)

This book was one of the most disturbing books I have read in a long time. Reminds me a lot of the gory details of Dreamcatcher and Tommyknockers by Stephen King. Sooo much visceral description. This book is not for the feint of heart.

I have not read a thriller this intense in a while. Edge of your seat and dramatic af!
Always love a Steven Weber audio book and he makes the story come to life! read this as part of the Don Winslow book club! So thanks to him for promoting such a great book!

My nephew is reading this for 8th grade summer reading so I thought I would give it a listen. Glad Audible has it available for free! This was a punishing tale. Buck who is a personified sled dog gets the rough end of the stick for the majority of the book. Glad John Thornton finally comes in and those jerks George Hal and Mercedes get their uppings hah. Happy to read/listen to a classic I have yet to try and was pleasantly surprised with it. Can't wait to discuss with my nephew!

The story had an interesting thing going for it but it got really jumbled up for me. I do like the idea of a stranger secretly living in a house though. It could go horror or comedy, not sure about this family drama route. I am open for discussion tho. This is a book club book for me so I plan to be discussing it. I really enjoy Fishers work. This one just didn't hit the same for me.

I wanted to learn more about the unbelievable things going on for the last 4 years in the white house but I really didn't enjoy the person telling me this information. It's like meeting someone you hate, but they hate another person you also hate. That is the bond I have with John Bolton. I guess the enemy of thy enemy is your ally? But reliable? None of what I read surprised me. I just also don't know who this book is for. The right won't read it. The left won't read it. Will you read it? Tell me why and what you thought.
