Not a fan of virtual voice
Revisado: 07-24-24
I’ve listened to Kay Jennings entire Port Sterling series on audible. I enjoy the characters and the mysteries. I spend a lot of time on the Oregon Coast which Jennings describes so well. I really enjoyed that there were two crimes going on in this story. I did NOT like the virtual voice at all. It was as if someone in a monotone was reading the story aloud. There was no differentiation between the characters’ dialog so it was impossible to keep track of the conversations and who was speaking. I rarely fall asleep while listening to audio books, but because of the virtual voice monotone, it made me nod off several times. I do hope Jennings will not use virtual voice on her next novel.

Historia
Whether she’s playing an “age-defying” book editor on television or dazzling audiences on the Broadway stage, Sutton Foster manages to make it all look easy. How? Crafting. From the moment she picked up a cross stitch needle to escape the bullying chorus girls in her early performing days, she was hooked. Cross stitching led to crocheting, crocheting led to collages, which led to drawing, and so much more. Channeling her emotions into her creations centered Sutton as she navigated the significant moments in her life and gave her tangible reminders of her experiences.

Hooked on Sutton
Revisado: 03-06-22
This story was a bit of a surprise to me. I purposely stay away from "sad" books. Although, I was in tears several times, this is a very sweet story, and I would recommend it. I love how Sutton used her creative outlet of crafting to explore her feelings and learn from the challenges life threw at her. Knitting has been a huge part of my adult life, and it has kept me company during some very dark times. The resiliency of children is amazing, and Sutton and her brother, Hunter, are definitely a testament of that resiliency.

Plagerized from Meik Wiking
Revisado: 01-18-20
This book was totally plagiarized - even the same jokes - from Meik Wiking’s “The Little Book of Hygge.” I had to return it because I can’t support an author who plagiarized word for word, and didn’t even give credit!

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

Any additional comments?
Some people described this as a who done in inside a who done it. I describe it as totally redundant and boring. I wish I would have just returned it and not wasted my time, but I kept hoping that it would get better. It doesn't. If you are looking for a book to help you fall asleep, this is the one for you. BORRRRING!
