The story was good but there were several aspects, such as pausing after a period behind Mr. or Mrs., among the choppy, emotionless quality of the virtual voice that ruined the story.

Loved the story.
Revisado: 07-23-18
The story was well written and intriguing really capturing the attention. I have only one complaint. I found the infrequent insertion of a background musical track distracting and unnerving. I listen to audible mostly while driving, which I do a lot, and suddenly hearing background noise while immersed in a story caused me alarm several times until nearly the end of the book when I was finally used to it. If I wanted music to enforce the moment or the mood, I would watch TV. I felt it detracted from the total immersion into a great story.

She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

The story was engaging and kept my interest. A great story about different people and the quiet secrets each one has that people may not see. Never judge a book by it's cover would be the theme. Loved it.

Intrquing story
Revisado: 02-27-18
I liked the story, but unless you are extremely open minded about same sex attraction and not assigning of gender according to the parts you're born with, then be aware that this book is pretty much filled with that theme. I, personally, have very strong convictions concerning the idea that God doesn't make mistakes and people are not born into the wrong gender body and I can tolerate same sex attraction, but I cannot take it as nonchalantly as it was portrayed in this story. As long as I could keep thiese things in the background, I could enjoy the concept of the story line. But. if you are uncomfortable with these ideas, this book is probably not for you. I felt like this theme was just too much a part of the story. Good writing, I personally, was just uncomfortable with the casual way these ideas were embedded into the story.

Revisado: 02-23-18
This book was so intriguing that I listened to it twice. I read some very negative reviews and I laughed out loud. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this story. I drive hundreds of miles every day in my job and I have listened to hundreds of books and I have no problem saying this was one best.
