Historia
As Lieutenant Joe Boyd and his partner, Hank Jensen, sort through the files, pondering which cold case homicide to work on next, an old fisherman shows up with something strange he pulled out of a pond hidden deep in the woods. This find opens a whole can of worms, refocusing Joe and Hank’s efforts in a totally new direction. A blue Camaro Z28 from the 80s, an antique camera from WW2, an old religious medal—among other things—become part of this unusual case. Joe and Hank seek to make sense of it all and piece together what happened in the days right after the Space Shuttle Challenger...

Good Story
Revisado: 06-15-24
Mr. Virtual Voice reads as well as some of the poorer readers I’ve listen to. And he seems to be improving. He needs to pay attention to words that have different pronunciations, based on what part of speech they are, or if they’re different tenses, and such. Somebody needs to listen to the finished product, because he keeps making the same mistakes from book to book. Three examples: The abbreviation for medical examiner is not pronounced “me”. It is pronounced “em-ee”. The past tense of read is pronounced red. Inflection is probably going to be more difficult, but if you really want the listener to enjoy the experience without having to wince periodically, this things should be addressed. Hearing these glitches pulls, at least this listener, out of the story. Even if it’s for just a few seconds, most of them are just unnecessary. I know these glitches could be fixed. Likely easily. They are good stories.

Wow!
Revisado: 01-29-24
I have read and listened to many, many stories surrounding the Shoah . Maybe part of why this story gripped me from the beginning so much is because there seem to be shadows of that horrific time appearing all around us. Nonetheless, the story was unique and gripping, almost from the beginning. And it didn’t let go until the end. I rarely finish a book that tells such a hard story in one day. But I did this time. Thank you for an excellent and actually oddly uplifting story!

I didn’t find one female character to be likable. They were either spiteful, simpletons, shallow or any combination of the three. I’m so glad I didn’t pay much for it. And got through the second have by speeding it up. The author wrote more? Why?

Historia
With the advent of several controversial social movements in subsequent decades, a non-traditional style of editorial persona began to take control of the news machinery in America. The weighing of ideas gave way to exclusive promotion of a specific world view, and the omission of all opposition within a devotee’s range of hearing. The American right found the voice it needed in the supremely gifted Rush Hudson Limbaugh III. Limbaugh possessed an unmatchable rhetorical reflex, a well-informed sense of each argument’s gist, and a flair for the politically incorrect.

I’m sure glad I got it cheap
Revisado: 10-27-22
From almost the first sentence I found myself thinking I should’ve looked up the author because it sure was sounding snarky and spiteful and very leftist. As I continued to listen I would have bet the author worked for NPR or some other far left-wing organization. It might have been more honest to claim “anonymous” author. The “author” Charles River Editors (Publisher)” “wrote” it. They, he/she it publishes history books. Knowing that alone makes it almost worth wasting my time and money on this book. I know where to not get any books from. I wonder if they have contracts with all of the liberal states schools so they can funnel bits of truth mixed with leftist dreck to the public school children in this country.
Remember their name. Tell your friends.
By the way for those who don’t know you have to mark at least one star per category. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any.

Junk
Revisado: 10-03-22
Pure junk! I bought it because it was on sale. Only $1.99. After around 20. minutes I decided it was tripe. Tried to get my money back. I guess I took too long to get around to trying it. That’s the problem with buying from Audible’s sales.
