The narration would have been better without the unnecessary and badly done "sound effects". Story is just okay.

enjoying the story accept for.... the use of "anyways" (which is NOT a real word) continuously. It gets old fast. But the story itself is great!

Historia
In Dead Man's Walk, Gus and Call are not yet 20, young men coming of age in the days when Texas was still an independent republic. Enlisting as Texas Rangers under a land pirate who wants to seize Santa Fe from the Mexicans, Gus and Call experience their first great adventure in the barren great plains landscape, in which arbitrary violence is the rule -- whether from nature, or from the Indians whose territory they must cross in order to reach New Mexico.<

Great story! Love to listen to Will Patton's voice
Revisado: 03-01-15
Would you listen to Dead Man's Walk again? Why?
Yes! Great narration!
Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, Love his work!
Any additional comments?
Too bad the story line doesn't match that of Lonesome Dove. All three books should have followed the same story line.

Too bad the story line doesn't match that of Lonesome Dove. All three books should have followed the same story line. And the narrators choice to make Gus yell every time he opens his mouth was horrrible.

Enjoyable fantasy!
Revisado: 09-20-14
What made the experience of listening to Dies the Fire the most enjoyable?
Local places for me, I live in the Willamette Valley and love this genre.
Any additional comments?
My only issue is that no one bothered to find out how words and place names should be pronounced!!! I like the narrator, he has a great voice and a good handle on accents and different voices. But he is OBVIOUSLY not from around here! This mispronunciations are laughable at first but by the third book, it really annoying. I lived in Gervais... Ger-vis, NOT Ger-vie-us! It's U-muh-till-a! It's Mull-i-no! An so on, so on, so forth! Look these things up people!

Awesome ! Except for the narration
Revisado: 05-03-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Phoenix Rising to be better than the print version?
No, don't care for the narrators voice. Its whiny and grating
Who was your favorite character and why?
No Eyes
What didn’t you like about Nancy Fish’s performance?
I don't like her whiny voice. She sounds like Joan Rivers and I don't like her voice either.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book is very moving, thought provoking and of great interest to me.
