I am beautiful. I am confident. I am lovable. I am a lottery winner. This is the mantra that will get Dreamy Daniels through each day until she makes it big. So what if she lives in a seedy part of Los Angeles in a house that’s one earthquake away from crumbling, or works an unfulfilling secretarial job while struggling to finish her bachelor’s degree? All Dreamy needs to do is win the lottery. When she catches the attention of her boss’ potential investor, Dreamy has to remind herself to focus on her career goals so she can be her own boss.

The black woman finally has a happy ending
Revisado: 01-03-25
I love the way this book was well thought out and lighthearted. It displayed the various backgrounds African Americans come from. This book gave a wandering heart hope for love, success, and happiness. Displaying that troubles don't last always and we must continue believing in ourselves even when people laugh at us. I absolutely loved the voice over. It made the book easier to listen to. I'm thankful the person reading the book was not monotone. She was lively and helped the book be as interesting as it was supposed to be. Great job ladies.

Jay-z said, “You can’t turn a bad girl good, but once a good girls’ gone bad, she’s gone forever,” and he was absolutely right! Jordan Williams was a living example. For most of her life, Jordan lived by the book. If it wasn’t the right thing to do, you could bet your money on Jordan not doing it. That’s until she played with fire and got burned by Emerson Campbell. Brianna Hill had to learn the hard way— that Jordan was never a good girl. She was just a bad girl found out. Brianna watched her best friend go from Ms. Goodie-to-shoe to The Coldest Hoe Ever in a blink of an ...

Good storyline but very sad.
Revisado: 10-16-24
The narrator was bland. A bit monotonous. It would have been more suspenseful and entertaining if she wouldn't read every part the same without any emotion.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

We care about the wrong things
Revisado: 03-09-24
Great book. Everyone should listen or read it. It's simple but the simplicity is needed. We forget how to simply exist and accept ourselves.
