Great story but virtual voice remains horrible.
Revisado: 04-28-25
As always Lynette’s stories are exceptional. I thought since this was a novella and the narration was only two hours I could handle it. I was wrong. Finally at the half way point I switched to reading the rest.

Susan Sleeman never disappoints!
Revisado: 03-09-25
I like that it brings in characters from her other series, it makes it feel familiar while being new. The characters are will developed, flawed not perfect but genuinely striving to put the past in the past. The new team is a family to each other so the bonds are tight. The escape room was a new twist. They really had to know each other well to work it out.

Good story but a bit slow.
Revisado: 04-21-24
The story itself was very good. Characters were very well defined. It moved rather slow for me, I like a lot of action and this book didn’t spend a lot of time on the suspense end of things. If you prefer your books to build at a slower steady pace you’ll love this book. I actually loved the main characters and there’s plenty left for more stories.
The narrator did a good enough job, but I struggled with her voice which probably added to the feeling of moving slow.

Another great one.
Revisado: 04-12-24
Relatable characters, people you can get attached to. I love how they bring in children with special challenges and show how special they are and yet how normal they are. The main characters have great gifts, a very talented surgeon who honed his skills in war and a very capable woman who would fight to the death protecting those in her care, especially the ones she loves. Yet both have flaws and are able to admit it and to know when to accept help. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
The only flaw in the narration is that the narrator needs to take a breath at the end of chapters. It feels like instead of putting a period at the end of the chapter they just jump into the next chapter. Not a big deal but it caught me off guard with each chapter. Of course this could be an editing flaw also. Over all the narrator did an excellent job!

Another great story from Edie James
Revisado: 12-27-23
This final book in the series brought closure for the family as to what really happened to their mother. Also tied up some loose ends. As always the characters were relatable, flawed, brave, with strong family ties and a faith that Holds them all together. Edie makes you want to be part of this family and community.
The only reason I only gave 4 stars to the overall rating was because of the AI narration. Although this one was better than most. Lacks the ability to portray emotions, intonations weren’t good for the most part, Pretty much no difference between character voices, especially bad were the male voices. Pronunciation of some words were wrong, especially with names. No master how good the AI is you still can’t replace the human voice, which truly brings a story to life.

Excellent heartwarming, feel good story without being overdone or sappy. Very relatable characters that suck you in to their inner circle. Can definitely feel the Susan May Warren touch. I’m sure we’ll be a seeing more from this author. The narrator also does a very good Minnesota accent.

Not what I I expected
Revisado: 05-10-23
It didn’t grab at the beginning, which to me is a red flag. It moved slow and, it was a bit disjointed making hard to follow everything. The biggest disappointment was the fact it’s not really a suspense novel. Dramatic parts yes, but true suspense no. The story itself was ok. But if you’re a fan of Lisa Phillips, Susan May warren, Susan sleeman, etc this probably is not the book for you. However, if you prefer tamer books, this may be a good fit.

Revisado: 02-16-23
As always, relatable characters. Heroes with flaws and struggles plus grit and determination. Fraser is easy to fall for! As always Susie brings back old friends from past books, giving us glimpses of them now, living their happily ever after as they continue to be the heroes they were meant to be. All interspersed with the truth of God’s love for us.
Adam’s narration is just frosting on the cake. His voice is gorgeous and his introspection of the characters is wonderful.

Wow! Great story!
Revisado: 02-03-23
Grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go. There are only a few authors that can pull you into the story and characters and make you feel a like you’re with friends. Lisa is one of them. This new series is going to be one of her best! Then add great narration, nothing better. I love how she shows that those with physical limitations can be strong, unstoppable heroes.
