There's. lot of useful information here but it's hard to pay attention to without a human reading it. There are also a number of places where visual differences in sentence structure are discussed that are utterly lost in audio. Still worth a listen, but the presentation doesn't make it easy.

The casual mysogeny and racism of the time period this was written can be hard to take, but beneath that is a very good story. The narration feels appropriate to the book, but dear holy God please edit out the wet mouth noises!

What made the experience of listening to The Jennifer Morgue the most enjoyable?

The combination of old school geek, supernatural action, and classic spy thriller.

What did you like best about this story?

It added some depth to the world of the laundry in a fun action filled story.

What about Gideon Emery’s performance did you like?

His gritty, almost noir delivery is not how I would have imagined these books being read at all, but I think it adds to the classic spy thriller aspect of the stories.

Any additional comments?

The second short story was a bit silly and anticlimactic. I wish it had come first so it wouldn't have taken me out of the afterglow of the main story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Atrocity Archives?

To avoid spoiling: There is a point where things get very grim for the first time, it's a great moment and unexpected in the sudden intensity.

Have you listened to any of Gideon Emery’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first I have heard but he did a very good job.

Any additional comments?

I have been told for years that I have to read these books. I have never quite found the time for one reason or other so the audio book was perfect. A well read and well told story, I will be listening to the rest and likely will add the books to my bookshelf as well.

What did you like best about this story?

This story took the two very different books that came before it and brought them together in extremely satisfying ways.

Which scene was your favorite?

Without spoiling anything... there was a moment of glorious redemption that was deeply satisfying.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Again a difficult answer to make without spoilers. As invested as I was in all the characters I had learned to love, hate, or hate/love in the first two books, there were resolutions to their stories that were both uplifting and tragic.

A wonderful end to a trilogy I enjoyed very much both in reading them and then in listening to the audio books.
