Historia
The White Lich has fallen. The remnants of his army have fled into the forests. It should be a time of celebration. But as Dante regroups his people, the Angel of Taim arrives with a message. They may have defeated the lich, but Taim is still going to destroy the mortal world of Rale.

The Non-Ending This Story Didn't Deserve
Revisado: 07-08-22
A finish to a series that feels wrong. That's my immediate impression on finishing. I don't want to ruin the story for anyone else, so it's difficult to write how frustrated I am. Others have pointed out how outlandish the story became, and others have defended it. I'm going to point out how unsatisfying the ending is compared to all the other books in the series. It feels like the ending with a whimper that is described for one possible ending of a world. In this case rather than saving the world, like you are expecting to happen, a predictable action-packed ending is replaced by a fizzle and a fade to black.

Historia
If society collapsed, could you survive? When Morgan Carter's car breaks down 250 miles from his home, he figures his weekend plans are ruined. But things are about to get much, much worse: the country's power grid has collapsed. There is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored - if it ever will be.

Conspiracy Theory To The Max
Revisado: 03-04-15
I rated the story so low because it really is out there. I kept listening, wanting to give the book a chance, but all that happened was that I was disappointed more and more. If you're into conspiracy theories, or willing to suspend rational thought for the length of this book, then it's for you. Character development continues throughout the book, and I was learning new info about the main characters right to the last half hour. The general public is treated as though it exists in one of two extremes, either complacent like cattle or willing to kill for anything just 48 hours into the story. As far as the narration goes, it was pretty well done with one exception: There were parts where the story switched from one character to another without a pause in the narration, which left me confused for a few minutes until I figured out the change

Hard to Put Down
Revisado: 12-02-13
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This is one of those books that I couldn't put down. I got really annoyed with the way things were explained over and over, and so many cliches! Regardless, I found myself coming back for more. The story makes me want to know what happens next.

Writing Style Makes The Difference
Revisado: 08-16-13
Any additional comments?
It really feels like two different people wrote the story... That is, if you didn't notice the transition. While Myke Cole drastically improved the story telling in the story, you can still tell the transition. I just wish Myke Cole had the time for the first half to be re-done in the same style as the ending to this story!

Historia
Myke Cole is an expert at ratcheting up suspense and delivering pulse-pounding adventure that leaves audiences breathless. In Shadow Ops: Control Point, the world has seemingly gone mad. People are waking up with magical powers, such as the ability to raise the dead or call forth storms. The only thing staving off a plunge into chaos is the Supernatural Operations Corps, headed by Oscar Britton. But when Oscar exhibits a power of his own, the hunter becomes the hunted.

Great concept, poorly executed
Revisado: 04-18-13
Any additional comments?
The concept of a government-regulated magical department showed such great promise, but sadly fizzled. The main character is an officer that is at once perceptive and idiotic, making the worst possible decisions throughout the story. The story never explains the reasoning of the government enough to justify the main character's or other side character's actions. The most infuriating part is, unfortunately, the main character's insistance on making such bad decisions that you'd think he was a teenager instead of an educated individual with a bachelor's degree and classes on decesion-making and leadership.
