Historia
The irascible husband of Victorian Egyptologist Amelia Peabody demonstrates again why he has been nicknamed "Father of Curses." Denied permission to dig at the pyramids of Dahshoor, Emerson is awarded instead the "pyramids" of Mazghunah: countless mounds of rubble in the midst of nowhere. Nothing in this barren spot seems worthy of interest - until an antiquities dealer is murdered in his Cairo shop.

In this timely memoir, Valderrama looks back on his journey from a tiny pueblo in Venezuela to the big city of Los Angeles—how he discovered his calling as an actor and later as a USO Global Ambassador, found work in Hollywood as an unproven Latino actor, and used his determination and success to build a new life for himself, his family, and many others.

His humanity and never ending dreams
Revisado: 11-15-24
I am absolutely amazed by this memoir. Put his name in Facebook and see the amount of things he has done—do you know him at all—or only from NCIS. He is so much more. Thank heavens for his wonderful parents for raising such a wonderful person and his drive to not only be an actor but what he has done for this country. I read daily and listen to audio books—you should really listen to this audio book. I see him through a whole different light and I shine when I see him on shows now and think of what he has done in his short life so far. Please get this book and while the entire book is amazing the last chapter is what we all need to aspire to. Thank you Wilmer for writing your story.

Amelia Peabody inherited two things from her father: a considerable fortune and an unbendable will. The first allowed her to indulge in her life's passion. Without the second, the mummy's curse would have made corpses of them all.

Egypt excavation
Revisado: 04-16-24
2nd time I listened to this book and read it twice also I am lucky that I worked in Egypt (Cairo, Giza, etc) Amelia was so strong willed and almost always got what she wanted without worrying about what others thought. Picking up a down and out girl in Rome and taking her with her she explored tombs and worked with two brothers she met and saved along the way. So many times the four of them where almost killed but working together they had a good if harrowing time. This is the first of several books of the foursome and they are so good you won’t want to put them down so get busy and start reading.

Historia
Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

Scotland and England way back when
Revisado: 09-16-22
I originally read this book and then bought the audible which I have listened to many times. Always the young that don’t know they are supposed to hate each other. Two young girls meet at a festival on the Scottish/english border and become friends for life. When one becomes pregnant and they had made a pack to be there for each other the clan men must go to England to see if Judith really will return with them-she does and beside being a best friend story it is a romance (?) also and a picture of life years ago—get the audible—you will love it

Revisado: 07-27-20
I read all the books and like it better than Harry Potter and it takes place in the US. Now I am buying the audio books. The narrator really brings the books to life. I can imagine the people/places/etc thru his voice. Max and David have to grow up fast in book 2. They leave Rowan with Cooper and they are on the run—both looking for something and running from someone. This book is very fast paced were people change from who they seem to be and some change again. The ending leaves you in a rush to get the next audio book.

Max and his dad are going to the museum same as every year. This year would be different as Max would be noticed as an apprentice. But not just the good guys are watching. Max leaves for a school to learn his powers. 1st year and so many things happen—if you loved HP you will enjoy this series even more—read it with your kids or everyone by themselves but you won’t be able to put it down. I highly recommend this book.

Revisado: 02-21-19
This is a wonderful story of a young lady moving to a beautiful chateau in France as a nanny. How will this play out? Will she really just take care of the kids or will it develop into a slave situation? How about friends—any time for them? This is a beautifully read book—while listening to it I saw a sign that said $3000 and it threw me—why are they advertising for $ in France. I highly recommend this audiobook—you will love it!

Revisado: 02-26-18
I really enjoyed this book and LOVED the narrator. So glad I listened to the book before I go Io see the movie as I believe it will add so much. Meg and Charles Wallace are 2 of the 4 children of two scientist. They are also “oddballs” to most of the kids in school. Father works for the government and is missing. Who is the weird woman and how come Charles knows so much. Can they find their father, can everyone get home again—maybe not, maybe. I hope there will be another book as I would like to carry on Meg’s story. I highly recommend this book/audiobook.

Even sevens need regular friends
Revisado: 11-26-17
Last day of school and Josh is in trouble. At the principals office and not sure how he was going to get out of this until something crazy happened and he was out!! School is out and Josh and his best friend Thomas have a chance to learn special skills, like karate but not. All is not happy though as Janie, Josh’s little sister, is tagging along and turns out she is good. This is where we learn that Josh is not normal and the school is just to hide his training. Mara is his handler and pulling the strings—or is she? When can Josh tell his parents and who is Jordan. This was an exciting book which I think is good for anyone, boy or girl from 8-80. I can’t wait to get started on book 2 which I already purchased. I actually listened to the audible of this book on a recent trip and it was very good.
