Historia
By day, Ripley Van Raden is the head librarian of Devil’s Moon’s historic library. By night, she leads haunted tours through the town’s cobblestone streets, regaling visitors with chilling tales of curses, feuds, and tragic love stories. But when a woman is found dead in the library basement, Ripley finds herself caught in a story more terrifying than any she’s told before. Could not wait for it to end!
Revisado: 02-27-25
I found this title very trying and repetitive in many areas that just got old… the man following part just got old and I skipped forward. Over all I did not enjoy the story nor the reading was so dry…

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story line keeps you thinking!
Revisado: 01-26-25
I loved the back and forth between the two main characters. The story lines kept me coming back to hear more and the ending was rewarding all but one open end I won’t share for the sake of the story but I really wish I had the answer to that still open story line….

Lacks Meaning and Dry
Revisado: 08-09-24
I so enjoy these stories but the performance is dry and without character. The auto voice reading takes away from the book and makes it so hard to want to listen to it. I prefer a person reading the books because they bring emotion and make it more enjoyable to listen too.

Poor Narration
Revisado: 05-11-24
Taking the human element out of the reading of a book was a very poor choice. The voice can make or break if someone listens. If I had paid for the title I would have returned it! Now I know I will never purchase a title that is read in this manner ever again. No feeling or emotion with the story.

I so enjoyed this book! So much so I went to look to see if the author had a series. I was disappointed to see this was the only one of its kind… I fell in love with Vera. She is a force all her own! Funny story line!

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-28-24
I have listen to each and everyone of the books of this series and this was the most disappointing one. The story was swallow and there were few clues to allow the listen to come along with the discovery. The ending was even more disappointing as we grabs Liam before a word is exchanged. I fill this book was only made to get the romance story told and not the mystery. I know the books don’t cost a lot but is one wasn’t worth it. As always the performance was great but the material lacked.

Hot Pickles got old
Revisado: 01-04-24
I really enjoyed the story line and the overall performance of this book but the over and over Hot Pickles remark got to be like nails on a chalk board to me… For that reason I was glad I got to the end. Hopefully in the next book there will be something easier to listen to replace those moments of excitement in the storyline. But overall I enjoyed the book.
