Sex in 99.9% of book then plot revealed at the VERY end.

Sigh. I like(d) Tyson (based off of this and other books), the female lead was strong in some cases, but written to be super duper stupid in most others. 🫤 Basically dark smut 99% of the way through until last 1% of book when the whodunnit was revealed. No real meat to book in first 99% of it. Anyhoooo. I think Im done with this series. I can’t bring myself to listen to Saint’s story bc, sh*t, the other 3 have been pretty dark so far, I can’t imagine what Saint’s book will be like. Torture p*rn is my guess. Peace. I’m out. Cheers!

Wow - dark / weird plot twists

This was very dark - like twisted dark (realizing this is nooot for me) with bizarre (lack of suspension of disbelief) plot twists….over and over and over lol. Every time you turned around- it was Professor Plum in the Conservatory with the candlestick- OH WAIT no it was…..Colonel Mustard in the Library with the lead pipe….OH WAIT…No it was the…. OH a New Guy. Cool. Ok. It was the…NO WAIT….I was getting whiplash at the end. Yuck

Dark Romance / Erotica

Hmmm….well for starters, the female narrator was good, her accent slipped here and there, but overall good. The male narrator threw on such thick cockney accent for male characters, they sounded like low-class, perverted OLD men🤷‍♀️. Some def heat in this book, but super dark here and there…def not to my tastes. I have 10 hours to go and just don’t know how I’m going to finish this 😬

Interesting concept / world / Lacking however

Dialogue was really lacking as far as I was concerned. Why did the dudes have to have southern accents? They sounded dim. Also - why ho-hum jobs for dudes?? I don’t know, but when I read/listen to paranormal, I’d like to be transported to a higher level of fantasy than this LOL. Felt like I was listening to high school kids at times. 😑 Narrator did OK but not to my taste. Otherwise, story concept was interesting.

Female Narrator Great. Male Narrator- eeehhh…

Story is pretty heavily s*x driven, don’t get me wrong, I like me some 🌶️, but this doesn’t provide suspension of disbelief. Love female narrator, male narrator doesn’t feel like it matches up to male lead in story. Plus Callum’s dialogue doesn’t feel like it marries up to the character he is supposed to be, soooo yeah. Still on the hunt for a spicy story with a well fleshed out plot and characters!!

This was OK…wished for more depth in storyline and characters. Concept was interesting. World building kinda cool. Just lacked depth. Dialogue tedious. But overall- cute.

I’m annoyed...

I’m sorry I bought this. The lead female is a bobblehead. And it’s really just - sex. I’m down for alien kink, but this feels rapey. It feels rapey bc author treats first sexual interactions as somewhat clinical- no buildup, sexual tension, or chemistry/connection up front. Just - bam. I was hoping for a reasonably intelligent story- even if this is alien sexy fluff. Ah well. I probably won’t buy anymore from this author. I had hopes. Just a side note, I did enjoy her world building and sci-fi concepts.
