Worst Narrator In the history of audio books
Revisado: 07-05-21
The story itself was very slow and not entertaining. It was the worst John Hart book so far in my opinion.
The worst part of this audio book was the narrator! It was like listening to a second grader reading out loud from a school book who is just learning to read. He was almost robotic and BY FAR the WORST reader I have ever heard and he ruined this book for me. At the end I remember thinking, “Thank God it’s over!”

If you like horribly sad, nightmarish stories this is the book for you. Very well written and narrated, but like a nightmare to me.

Classic As Always!
Revisado: 08-24-19
Excellent book by Patrick McManus! The only thing that bothered me was the narrator pronounced a couple of things incorrectly - like calling someone named after Attila the Hun “AT-till-la”. He should have listened to the original recorded version first. Other than that he is an excellent narrator of McManus books.

Finally a book worth listening to! I have a hard time finding books that are interesting enough to hold my attention and I had my doubts this book would do that - but it certainly did! I would recommend this book.

Historia
Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

Revisado: 09-28-17
I am an avid watcher of "Homicide Hunter" and have watched every episode. I didn't know if this book would be a rehash of the television show or not - it is not. This book is an in-depth look at Joe Kenda's entire career and even discusses members of his family. There are so many stories in this - and they are not just stories about murders he has solved. It is also a book I will listen to again and again. It is a "must have" for any fan of Joe Kenda!

Interesting But No Payoff
Revisado: 10-03-16
What made the experience of listening to Behind Closed Doors the most enjoyable?
The main character was very likable. You wanted her to find a way to get out of a very bad situation.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The main character's situation just continued to get increasingly worse. Everything that happens to her makes you want her to find a way out of her situation and exact a terrible revenge.
What about Georgia Maguire’s performance did you like?
Maguire has a nice voice and separates the characters well by doing different voices.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
You relate to the main character and want to see how she gets out of her horrible situation- a situation that seems very far fetched and ludicrous at times. You want her to exact a satisfying revenge in the end. Too bad the ending was very lack-luster and the final "payoff" was very weak indeed...

This is one of those books that grabs you from the start and you don't want to stop reading until it is finished. This glimpse into the world of human trafficking is told from the inside and is shocking and emotional. This is one of the best books I have listened to on Audible and I highly recommend it!

Revisado: 09-17-16
Finally, a book that is well written, exciting and read by a good narrator! This is one of the best books I've listened to in a long time. It has good plot twists and made me want (and look forward) to listen. Excellent narration. A nice change after a string of boring losers. I would be surprised if anyone who didn't like good mysteries did not enjoy this book - I highly recommend it!

Since I have a background in anthropology, geography and geology I am not too surprised that have loved each one of Jean Auel's books in the 'Clan of the Cave Bear' series. 'The Plains of Passage" is a simply wonderful book that paints a picture of the world during the "ice age." It has everything - action, adventure and love. I have no doubt that you will thoroughly enjoy is book!
