I absolutely love this memoir. Mr. Brooks, reading it made it truly spectacular and enjoyable. The love for his art really comes through with each anecdote. I am more a fan now than ever before.

Great follow up
Revisado: 05-31-22
Good clean and simply funny look at Halpern's struggles with love and dating as only real life can dish it out. Great second book by Justin Halpern following his "Shit my Dad Says" book. Really enjoyed the narrator too. Great job!

Not 50 cool stories
Revisado: 05-31-22
This book is ok, but not worth my money. Some of the stories were interesting but nothing close to wild. It is narrated by several different people a couple which I just did not like at all. Anytime their voice would start reading, I would fast forward. This book let me down.

Historia
This thought-provoking book examines gang history in the region encompassing West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico. Known as the El Paso-Juárez borderland region, the area contains more than three million people spanning 130 miles from east to west. Mike Tapia examines this region by exploring a century of historical developments through a criminological lens and by studying the diverse subcultures on both sides of the law.

it was ok
Revisado: 05-31-22
I'm not sure what I was expecting when I picked this one. As an El Paso native I did like learning more about local history. I felt not enough time was devoted to the El Paso Juarez area as the book suggests. The narrator was really not to my liking. His pronunciation of some of the Spanish last names just got distracting when repeatedly done incorrectly. Tapia, is a last name that comes up often. and every time it is mispronounced it's like nails to a chalkboard.

Great book for those of us that are Gen X growing up with dads that always had a quick remark and didn't care about feelings.
