Historia
In his best-selling book Falling Upward, Richard Rohr talked about ego (or the False Self) and how it gets in the way of spiritual maturity. But if there's a False Self, is there also a True Self? What is it? How is it found? This book likens True Self to a diamond, buried deep within us, formed under the intense pressure of our lives, that must be searched for, uncovered, separated from all the debris of ego that surrounds it. In a sense True Self must, like Jesus, be resurrected, and that process is not resuscitation but transformation.

I loved the simplicity and complexity of this book. It answered some questions I wasn't aware I had and others that I was very aware of.

I like character development and this did not disappoint. I am listening to the 7th book in this series and am pre-mourning the end since book 8 hasn't been released, or written as far as I know. the writing gets better in every way. it reminds me of Deborah Crombie' writing

story was good
Revisado: 11-03-24
this is the first time I've made it through a whole book with virtual voice. ir wasn't as bad as some others but still "nails on chalkboard" bad in places. however the story was fun with good characters. the best part for me was the name dropping of other books and authors - Charles Lovett in particular. I'm not sure that I will listen to virtual voice again but j do plan to read more of this series

I really liked this book. I gave it 4 stars because I tend to overrate books but I really found no fault with it. it wasn't the best book I've listened to but it is the best I've listened to in this genre for quite awhile. I will be looking at this author's other books for sure

Historia
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

When builders discover a human skeleton during a renovation of a café, they call in archeologist Dr. Ruth Galloway, who is preoccupied with the threatened closure of her department and by her ever-complicated relationship with DCI Nelson. The bones turn out to be modern—the remains of Emily Pickering, a young archaeology student who went missing in 2002. Suspicion soon falls on Emily’s Cambridge tutor and also on another archeology enthusiast who was part of the group gathered the weekend before she disappeared—Ruth’s friend Cathbad.

This installment was very good. I am actually in tears at the end because I am wondering if this is the last we will read of Ruth and the gang. I sure hope not.
This book kept me enthralled to the very end. It is one of her best.
