This might have/could have been a decent book.
Unfortunately, for the author, I'm giving it a very low rating.
Pronunciation of key words and lack of emphasis in pertinent places makes it very difficult to enjoy the work this author put into this book.
I didn't make it past the first chapter the narration was so distracting. My apologies to the author.
Not sure if you are running out of human narrators or you're cutting corners, virtual narration at this time is a poor idea.

British Narration Extremely Distracting

I had to hear the next installment of this series,I had serious misgivings if I could continue with the change in narration.It would have been one thing for it to have been "British" from book 1.The story is decent enough I might have been able to to listen to the whole series.Such a drastic change for the last was extremely distracting& took a lot away from a series I had found enjoyable up to this point.
May I suggest - Get Out the Thesaurus! Every exasperated,frustrated expression does not have to be expressed as "incredulous." That word,in it's various forms,was excessively overused.

Very disappointed!

Wasn't familiar with this author,but,had stumbled upon Wind in His Heart & really enjoyed it.Thought I'd try a 2nd book of his.Not finding another one with Native American subject,which is my favorite,I chose this book.
The story line was very difficult to follow & actually rather confusing.By the end of the book,if I had to describe the plot of the book,it would be difficult.Lots of things happening,it was like herding chickens to follow along.
The narrator started out ok for the 1st couple chapters,then for some reason did a major switch to a Northeastern accent that was extremely irritating.I got to the end of the book,but,just barely.Kept hoping it'd get better,no luck.He shouldn't continue with the Native American,he did very well with that one.

Struggled to get through 1st chapter

This maybe a fantastic book,I couldn't get through the 1st chapter.I gave it several chances.I know the information is on the right track.The performance pushed me away.

Narrator reads this as a children's book.It's Not!

Thought I'd really enjoy this book from the description.And,it possibly is,the narrator ruined it for me.I tried 3 times to get through the 1st chapter,there was no way.Get a better narrator preferably a male& I'll repurchase audiobook.

Love all his books! TERRIBLE Narration!

Awful Narration!Could only stand 20min before had to quit a book I really enjoy.I bought every book he ever wrote as soon as available.Thought the audiobooks would be great way to read again.Narrators accent,mispronunciation of words drove me nuts.Find a narrator that sounds like Tony's characters,knows the terms of Navajo People& I'll repurchase the audiobooks.

Hard to Get Into

I purchased this a couple yrs back.And,quite honestly,after 5-6 attempts over that time,I still wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish it.Forced myself this last week waiting for my monthly credits to come in.
The story is ok,and narration is ok,but neither one was able to keep my interest.I realize there are a lot of people that really enjoyed the book,I just wasn't one of them.
I listen to books while doing my farm work.I find it very enjoyable and makes tedious jobs go easier.The female narrator's voice was easy to understand.But,the male narrator was more difficult causing me to constantly fiddle with the volume.

Enjoyed the Book,Poor Ending

I did enjoy the book overall. Still don't really care for the format used assigning each chapter a 1st person account of a character.That is just a personal preference. However,I was very disappointed in the way this particular book ended. It was as though the manuscript was sitting in front of the editors & they decided it was too long & needed to divided into 2 books. And so, like a deck of cards randomly split the manuscript into 2 piles. There should have been a little more forethought. I'm also finding the writing quality is struggling.

Can Hardly Wait to Start Next Book!

Just finished book 4 and immediately bought book 5. Audiobooks play all the while I do my farm work. Just stumbled onto this series and have enjoyed each one very much. You get so much into the story you seem to get to the end before you realize it. I purchase the next right away.

Over Description of Details that Bore U Senseless

This book I believe would have been pretty good if the excessive, mind numbing details would have been left out. And, the length reduced by another third. The subject had a great deal of potential and if the descriptions if more straightforward and simplified could have been an enjoyable read. I gave this book multiple chances. I'd listen while doing farm work until it'd get me so frustrated with 10 minutes of listening and the surroundings still being described with no forward motion to the story. I finally had to give up and returned the book.
