First off: Funny & entertaining story. Plus: brilliantly performed!

BUT: In contrast to the first book, the characters are inside an actual RPG, which kind of feels like someone is telling you about a gaming session. It wss more fun when RPG rules suddenly applied to the real world.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to book four!

Each and every of these stories is worth listening to twice, as the whole thing appears in a completely different light once you get the decisive in the last sentence... great stuff!

Extremely shocked

A creative setting & a storyline packed with action made me rush through 2 books in no time - so, in terms of entertainment, this series does a brilliant job!
However.
After three books of listening to the MC being "shocked", "feeling some helplessness" and something being "extremely strong/big", I'm getting annoyed with the lack of diversity in the author's vocabulary.
Added to that, the characters still lack depth, instead representing a bunch of RPG character stereotypes.
Guess I'm going to part ways with the first defier for now - might get back to it, however, as it's extremely entertaining ;)

Almost too much RPG

A nice work of the LitRPG genre with a creative setting - the author clearly spent a decent amount of time for wordbuilding.
However, as RPGs go, most characters are stupendously violent, while justifying their violence very narrow-mindedly... a variation of the good old "let's go kill people abroad to protect our families" philosophy.
Also, the characters lack depth, so it's really just a nice little hack-and-slay pass-time.
Still, it's entertaining enough & the performance of Pavi Proczko is flawless.

Can't wait for book 3

He actually did it - same nerdy humor throughout the second book, but in a completely different setting from in the first book.
Also, the narrator does a great job at giving each character a distinctiv voice, as well as convincingly convey their emotions.
Looking forward to listening to book three!

Transformers III

Same thing as with the transformer movies: First one had a great story & nice, nove action scenes. The sequels had ever less actual content for the sake of... well... guns being fired. Same here. Endless descriptions of guns being fired & enemies being struck down. Fun for a short time, granted, but it gets annoying after a while...
For those who love (and understand) military tactics, it might be more interesting, though.
Point being: If you aren't a gun-horny army guy, Wayward galaxy II may not be your favourite listen, even if R. C. Bray IS an awesome performer.

Another gripping Reckoner story packed with funny scenes, interesting characters & with just the right amount of backround information to make you want to read on to reach that ever-so-satisfying "Aaaah, THAT's how it works!"-moment in Sanderson's books.
