Great Addition
Revisado: 04-19-23
Another great addition to this series. The storyline keeps getting better as the author gains experience. Many new things are introduced while other sub-plots are concluded. This book just flew by, and I look forward to #4.
I really enjoy the humor and how realistic the characters seem to react to their environment, which is similar to how I envision my own reactions would be.

Still Great... but Not Quite as Good as the Others
Revisado: 03-15-23
There's a lot of cool insight to drafting and pretty cool plot twists. However, unlike the other books, Kip's story is less dramatic or doesn't evolve as much as it has in the previous three books? It is pretty obvious to me that this was a much needed installment to set up a worthy conclusion of this series. Enjoy!

Fun,Refreshing & Keeps Getting Better
Revisado: 03-06-23
Went into the series hoping for a fun, easy-going listen that was still engaging. The original took a minute to genuinely pull me in. It did eventually get its hooks into me to where I was excited for book 2. However, I was not expecting it to be nearly as enjoyable and addictive as I found it.
Book 2 expands on and evolves the story in such unexpected, amazing ways. So much so that this is easily one of my most anticipated series to keep an eye out for upcoming releases. I love positivity, characters, entertainment, and most of all the evolution of the story. I can't emphasize that enough because it changed how much I now enjoy this series.
I also greatly appreciate how quickly new installments are being released ( yet without sacrificing quality) although things are still early. The author also has seemed to hit his stride by growing as a writer as The Mark of Fool progresses. My expectations are high for the books to come and confident they will be exceeded.

Another Great Addition
Revisado: 01-27-23
This latest installment doesn't disappoint. The storyline continues to get even better as it evolves. Many things are covered and wrapped up without dragging along and without the overall plot suffering.
If you are a fan of this series (which I'm sure you are if you've made it this far) then you will not be disappointed. I keep expecting one of these books to miss the mark or not live up to expectations but have yet to be disappointed.
Another amazing job 👏

Seriously, This Latest Book is the Best (Again)
Revisado: 11-16-22
I have loved this Series since the original book was released. Along the way, each new installment book has constantly bested the previous.
TheFirstDefier is so great at expanding the Defiance of the Fall universe and creating new challenges (bigger, better, and more exciting) whenever the main parts in the story reach their conclusion. This has made this series one of my favorites especially this book in particular. I love how we as listeners aren't left hanging on the hook and strung along for a slow, merciless story that takes many books to finally know what happens.
This book is a must if you are a fan of the series already. If not then you are in for one heck of treat because you get to start such a fun series. Many questions will finally come to head in this book. After they're resolved new challenges appear that to me were very exciting! I love the direction this book & now story is going. Can't wait for more!!!

Legends speak of wizards with the power to rival Gods. To Hump, it’s just a story. Apprenticed to a wandering wizard, he grew up on the road, following the coin on whatever quest it took them. He always believed his master was just an ordinary hedge wizard, until the old man suddenly died, and his book of spells bound to Hump’s soul. Knowing no other life, Hump takes up his master’s staff and heads out alone into a world of dungeons and monsters. So begins the path of The Wanderer. The White Flame. The Hedge Wizard.

Loved it!
Revisado: 06-28-22
Exceptional, fun and just want I needed!
From the moment I started this book I was so pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this story is. It definitely builds and gets better the further in I listened as well. Now I have another series to look forward too.
Definitely reminded me of the Spellmonger Series (which is a blast and one of my favorites) but with its own unique, light LITrpg flavor blended in remarkably well. So happy that this story found its way to me.

Merely gaining levels and having a higher cultivation isn’t enough to pass the eighth realm’s test into the ninth realm. Find your truth, understand your reason; only then can you pass the eighth realm. It might be Erik and Rugrat’s hardest challenge yet.

Huge Fan. But Story Struggles in this Installment
Revisado: 06-24-22
I am admittedly a huge fan of this unique, fun series and have enjoyed all previous books at least 4.5 stars worthy. Although I wrapped up this book quite fast (2 days) while optimistically trying to make myself enjoy this latest installment... I have to be honest with myself and anyone reading this: The story just never really moved or progressed anywhere close to any of the others in the series.
If I'm really honest with myself I knew that I'd be disappointed by the lack of story progression by the time I got a quarter of the way through. There was so much to cover in such a short amount of time that I knew this would fall short of my optimistic expectations. It felt like a primer to set-up the next book which I'm confident will be the best one yet.
The narration, writing and overall style still matches beautifully with others in the series. I am only disappointed by this storyline that seems to take a step to the side, tie-up some minor loose strings and barely hints towards moving the journey of all our favorite characters forward. I am considering it as technically the 8.5 Realm.
Highly confident and highly anticipating what I expect to be an amazing "The 9th Realm" in the near future. Until then...

Say hello to the new and improved Clyde Hatchett...who's only a level-four nothing. He's on a (seemingly never-ending) quest to get back to his life in Glaton. And now, all that stands in his way are the Empire-hating Carchedonians, a death cult, and a traitorous party member. Oh, and a mythical city that very probably doesn't exist.

Dominic Hart was screwed. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, no money for treatment, and an athletic scholarship hanging by a thread...he didn't have many options. But the university clinic had offered him a free video game. Some sort of "therapy", they said. A way to while away the hours until he kicked the bucket. Yay. What Dom wasn't expecting was to get swindled by a surly casino owner right out of the gate. Or get dropped in a backwater hellhole voted the “number one worst starting location in Awaken Online".

No Jason?!? No Problem. Surprisingly Amazing.
Revisado: 02-09-22
Although this latest installment in the Series doesn't feature our favorite 'Dark Throne Leader', Jason, the book is still one of my favorites.
This is a refreshing & original addition to Awaken Online. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is another "Side Quest" or isn't a part of the main series. Book 6 definitely is a genuine and important installment to the series. I really enjoyed how Travis Bagwell used this book to introduce what will be one of the most influential characters of the series. Second only to Jason (potentially equal???).
I was completely blown away the whole time and didn't expect I'd enjoy anything Non-Jason related in the series. Even though Jason isn't featured references and different tie-in's are cleverly drawn-out throughout the entire book.
So now I just can't wait to see what happens next!!
With either or both Jason/Dom.
