AI narrator is terrible
Revisado: 04-14-25
Story is great. The AI narrator is terrible though. I'm sure the software will improve with time, but currently it is off putting

What even is the point?
Revisado: 02-13-25
Nothing is accomplished. Nothing interesting happens. It starts slow, stays slow, and when things begin to happen, it ends abruptly leaving you disappointed.
What even is the point of the title? The title itself belies nothing. It means nothing.

blah
Revisado: 02-08-25
The narrator sounds like he is speaking with cotton balls in his mouth all of the time. Random words end with a "sh" sound even though they end with the letter "t" or some other letter.
The story in the first 2 books is disappointing and everything ends with failure. In the third book, it almost seems like it'll end the same but it ends with everything working out and with a happy ending.

Not a good sequel
Revisado: 12-16-24
Not a fan of the beginning. Having to listen to the perspective of Jardir for so long. The whole time I keep telling myself that if that whole society isn't genocided, I'll never listen to another by this author. It isn't just annoying to listen to, the society depicted is deplorable.
The author tacked on the Krasian perspective because it isn't good enough for its own story. So, he added it to another. Honestly ruining the book. Then we get to Leahia. In the first book she was a good side character, in this book she is infuriating and unrealistic. Nobody believes that a pigheaded 30 year old village girl is going to be in any position to influence or change the course of a war. Her character isn't relatable.
It turns out the next book after this is more of the same: Krasian perspective featuring Eneverah. Like seriously! I'm totally done with this series.

Left an outcast, he's surrendered his birthright and been given a woman's place as apprentice to Mother Gundring, Gettland's Minister, training to be an adviser, diplomat, healer and translator. But when his father and brother are murdered by Grom-gil-Gorm, King of neighboring Vansterland, Yarvi is forced to take the Black Chair and become king himself.

Mediocre story, horrible ending
Revisado: 11-27-24
Apparently, the author is good, but I haven't had the chance to listen to any of his books beside this one. This one is generally not good.
The MC is pathetic in the beginning, middle, and end of this book. It ends with him loosing his crown, hated, blamed, and loosing the only love interest in the story.

Blah narrators, mediocre story
Revisado: 11-07-24
The male narrator sounds like his mouth is full of cotton.
The female narrator is passable but often annoying to listen to.
The story is just mediocre. It isn't bad, but isn't good. It doesn't catch and hold your attention.

Historia
Some people just knew how to go out in style. Tim had never been one of those guys. Tim was always a planner. The plan was to get into college, graduate, and find a well-paying job. That plan was coming together nicely until he saw a presentation to get paid to play The Etheric Coast. At his graduation ceremony. After watching the company's employee recruitment video, Big Richie's words had a whole new meaning. He could spend his life going from a cubicle at work to a one-bedroom apartment and back again...or enter a virtual world of unlimited possibilities.

Mediocre LITRPG with woke lecturing
Revisado: 10-31-24
It is a mediocre story. Not bad bot not good. The writing is passable and the narrator does a good job.
The problem is that there is way too much moralistic preaching. Woke preaching and leftist talking points.

Joe and humanity as a whole messed up pretty badly, managing to get some of the most important people from both the Elven and Dwarven races killed. Now the war is escalating to unprecedented levels, and only one side needs to worry about being slain. With the attackers knowing they can get right back up after dying, they are throwing themselves against their centuries-long foe without caring for the consequences. Great, but short
Revisado: 10-11-24
I am not inclined to spending my audible credit on the next book because of the shortness of the book.
Especially with all the options there are of similar types of books that are longer.

Full of woke ideology
Revisado: 10-03-24
Leave the woke gender ideology out of your story next time. Book 1 was great. Now I have to pretend to care about gender identity.
The author completely ruined the story with the sequel.
