this book is not a complex, story intense, highly detailed work, instead it's simple, pure, and honest. I see God everywhere but it seems I see him more in the simple and the honest, after all, he uses the simple things to confoud the wise, and for a split moment while reading this book I saw the gospel and a shadow of Christ. one can only cry when confronted with that, I think.

This book can best be described as a chimera of ideas, each distinctly standing out like the roots of objectivism, the story blocks, or the expression of quantum mechanics, string theory and all the other fields of study of which I know nothing. 10/10 would recommend, but only if your interested in this type of stuff.

Pretty slow start

Slow start but does get better, I will buy the next book as it the world and everything in it has potential but if it keeps like this I will not likely finish.

Goodreads was wrong.

Goodreads gave this book a 3.8 I believe, saying it was good writing but inconsistent in plot, progression, pacing, and overall a let down. I disagree. I liked this book so much I listened to it all in one day and never wanted to stop. Give it a shot especially if it's free as it is at the time of writing this.

I dislike ever character I can think of, especially the Joe and his team. I like most everything else in the world. I see im overwhelmingly in the minority so I will most likely read the next book in hopes that I'm the problem.

Vexing

The good - character build, world build, names of people, places, and things, magic system, I'll save time and just say everything is great except for the main characters personality.

The Bad - The MCs personality. I've tried to listen to this book 3 or 4 times over the last year becasue I love so much about it, but then the main character starts to speak and my blood boils do to his smug, arrogant self indulgent stupidity. And I have to assume the author knows how insufferable the MC is as in the later half of the book the other characters keep commenting on it. I will buy the next book because I am really hoping the author is playing a long con and will write the MC out of his irksome ways. That would be the ultimate character development.
