best in the series

This is the best one in the series so far! The story is very intense, but the romance was there from the first moment. Well done all around.

Historia
Dunbar-Ortiz adroitly challenges the founding myth of the United States and shows how policy against the Indigenous peoples was colonialist and designed to seize the territories of the original inhabitants, displacing or eliminating them. And as Dunbar-Ortiz reveals, this policy was praised in popular culture, through writers like James Fenimore Cooper and Walt Whitman, and in the highest offices of government and the military.

Well done but biased
Revisado: 10-25-24
I enjoyed this book but I think she makes up for the mistreatment in thr past by going too much the other way, finding wrongs where they weren't intended or without the other view. For example, she talks of how the settlers would sing of God cleansing their crimson sins and making them white as snow as meaning they were saying that even God is racist. Actually, that is from Isaiah, written by a Jew to Jewish people and it was simply meaning that even if you have such noticable sins (or stains) like crimson or blood, God can make you as clean as if you had no stain. A white cloth is easily stained and shows all the stains. However, overall, she brings up many good points. I would love to read a less biased history on this topic, seeing history from every side.

Historia
Life is finally looking up for the poor relations. The Prince of Wales’ coat of arms gleams over the hotel entrance. All but one of the rooms are filled by the open-handed Prince Hugo and his entourage. They have finally reached a position comfortable enough to allow them to consider offers to buy the hotel. The poor relations’ hard-earned success, however, is in stark contrast to the plight of their latest guest, Lady Jane Fremney. The slight, beautiful youngest daughter of the Earl of Durby has been cast out of her family for refusing to marry the man her father has chosen.

Excellent end to a marvelous series
Revisado: 07-12-24
I do recommend this series, but reading it in order is better than just reading one. But if you read the others, this is definitely the icing on the cake, so to speak. Love, love, love it! The narrator is the same through each book and is delightful. LOVE!!!

Very I formative. Lots of interviews, but I found the first episode in particular a bit dull. However, the rest are great! Excellent to learn about what led up to the protests in Belarus.
