Historia
Britannia is finally free from Carthaginian rule. Now, it is up to Ky, a test pilot from the far future and current Consul of the new Britannic Empire, to take the fight to the Carthaginian Empire. The continent, with its vast resources and manpower, awaits. However, it takes more than new weapons to turn an ancient army based around heavy infantry into one out of the Napoleonic era. New weapons, new tools, and new tactics are ready to take Britannia into the industrial revolution if only they can survive long enough to master them.

Consistently good
Revisado: 06-26-24
Fun idea with good writing and a well paced plot that seems to be written with a concrete ending in mind.

Historia
Welcome to Chromatacia, where life is strictly regulated by one’s limited color perception. Civilization has been rebuilt after an unspoken “Something that Happened” five hundred years before. Society is now color vision—segregated, everything dictated by an individual’s visual ability, and governed by the shadowy National Color in far-off Emerald City. Twenty-year-old Eddie Russett, a Red, is about to go on trial for a murder he didn’t commit, and he’s pretty certain to be sent on a one-way trip to the Green Room for execution by soporific color exposure.

I may have waited about 14 years and it was a bit surprising in the direction it went, but this was truly a great sequel.

Juliet Bianchi was once just another working drone, struggling to survive in a world where megacorporations reigned, information was power, and that power was worth killing for. Then she stumbled upon a kidnapping gone wrong and ended up with a stolen AI chip that took her from the bottom of the barrel to a top-tier realm of mercs, freelancers, and assorted unsavory folk.

Good writer
Revisado: 01-22-24
Honestly, Ill listen to a lot of pop fiction even if it's not great writing, but this has a lot more structure and is less episodic than a lot of similar titles. It's nice to see someone writing not just an enjoyable story, but genuinely good books telling a story.

As old allies turn on each other, as an unassuming presence in yellow walks the lands of dreams, as an empire falls, a group of people is gathered to fight the threat that the rest of the world decided to ignore. Even as everything burns, and the chaos consumes the core, some are willing to act. Whether for their own self-interest, or just because it is the right thing to do, they are the only ones that can stand against the greatest threat their world has ever seen.

Poorly stitched together with pacing issues.
Revisado: 04-24-23
Several HOURS of nothing but stat screen recaps. The author clearly has an overarching storyline he is weaving the characters into, but honestly it's making the character development hollow. The story is a bunch of bullet points and the author just writes to get to the next one without any care to how the story flows or an effort to make it feel organic.

Relieved and happy
Revisado: 01-01-23
One thing I was worried about getting fumbled got handled admirably in book 7 instead (very mild spoiler ahead). In a universe where life spans and cultivation take decades and only a year or two has passed in the first 6 books I didn’t see how the series could meaningfully continue with out some time skips in the story. Well there is finally a small time skip about 70% of the way through book 7 and it flows perfectly without feeling weird or that you’re missing out. Very relieved and it gives me hope the author will manage to continue to provide an interesting story that does not stagnate.

One of the best of the genre!
Revisado: 01-01-23
I've been continually impressed with this series and the way it handles some of the particular challenges of lit-rpg. The stat screen checks are better than the majority of others, often managing to interweave with the actual ‘magic/system’ of the universe in interesting ways. By being one of the more nuanced cultivation systems and having the ‘system’ itself be somewhat of participant in the plot, it becomes much more integrated into the story with it’s own lore, mystery and motivation.
The books also tend to flow better, because each book doesn’t immediately conclude after the first conflict resolves itself. It continues and actually deals with the aftermath of the conflict while setting up the next one(s) that will appear in the future. It really seems to help the interpersonal development of the characters and adds some depth to the story. Makes it feel more of a continuous story than a series of one off adventures.
Lastly, one thing I was worried about getting fumbled got handled admirably in book 7 instead (very mild spoiler ahead). In a universe where life spans and cultivation take decades and only a year or two had passed in the first 6 books I didn’t see how the series could meaningfully continue with out some time skips in the story. Well there is finally a time skip about 70% of the way through book 7 and it flows perfectly without feeling weird or that you’re missing out. Very relieved.

Freeing the troll’s sacrificial captives was only the beginning. Now the remnants of humanity must find a safe place to call home. But Nat's Park isn't the safe haven he was promised it would be. Not only do internal politics threaten to rip the survivors apart, an unknown danger haunts the stadium.

Starting out strong
Revisado: 05-23-22
Strong first few with a lot of potential. I hope the author as the story arc developed and doesn't get lost in the weeds. Also, I don't personally care, but seems like it's going to be 'clean' and appropriate for all ages.

As all electronics in the world simply ceased to work, blue screens filled with information appeared before him. Drew was given access to a mana interface and a limited number of reality-altering crystals called Xatherite. Following the instructions on his vision-impairing screens, he "slotted" his Xatherite and changed his fate: He gained the ability to cast spells. Fantastic 2, should have been a quintet
Revisado: 02-05-22
Absolutely great 2/3 with an unfortunate tacked on happy ending. Could have been a great quartet or quintet. Veteran of a few iterations by the author who is addicted to the trilogy competent and this just happens to be the one he REALLY needed to flesh out to make great.
