From the best-selling author of ‘Murdaugh, She Wrote: High Crimes in the Lowcountry’ and ‘Blood & Marriage’ … Volume 2: ‘Murdaugh, She Wrote: After the Trial.’ The original book, now Volume 1, was published before the trial of Alex Murdaugh for the murder of his wife, Maggie, and his son, Paul, that started on January 23, 2023, because the author was not expecting that there would be a trial at all. Well, we all get some things wrong … and this second volume is about how Alex Murdaugh’s story got told during his police interviews and the trial itself. The climax of the ...

Detailed and informative

I really liked how at the beginning of the narration, the author admitted where several mistakes were made in the first volume of this book, not many will admit that. Overall I enjoyed it, I discovered a few details that aren’t in the many documentaries out there so that was a plus for me.

From the best selling author of 'Blood & Marriage' and 'The Night My Husband Killed Me,' this is a story of murder and money and power gone wrong. (And Volume 2, 'Murdaugh, She Wrote: After the Trial' is out now.) In June of 2021, following two brutal homicides in a prominent family, the rest of the world learned what people in a small Southern town called Hampton had long known … … Anything is possible if your last name is Murdaugh. ‘Murdaugh, She Wrote’ is a southern gothic tale of one family and the people who served them. It’s an account, or better to say an accounting, of ...

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this version of the Murdaugh mystery, I learned several details from this author that I might have missed from other podcasts or documentaries. I especially enjoyed the snippets of song lyrics at the beginning of each chapter. I would highly recommend listening to this audiobook, quite frankly I’m surprised it’s not rated higher!

This book was from a dark time in our history when the government failed so many and chose to look the other way. I commend those brave warriors who continued to fight tirelessly, oftentimes at their own peril, to ensure that something was done. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about how this deadly pandemic affected so many and how countless lives were saved in its aftermath.

In the fall of 1994, Erich Baumeister (13), was playing in a wooded area of his family’s estate, when he stumbled across a partially buried human skeleton. He presented the disturbing finding to his mother, Julie, who inquired about the skull to her husband, Herb. He told her that the skeleton belonged to his late father, an anesthesiologist. Astonishingly, Julie believed him. In You Think You Know Me, best-selling author Ryan Green assumes the role of Herb Baumeister and attempts to fill in the blanks on one of Indiana’s most mysterious serial killers.

Warning, extremely graphic!
Revisado: 07-10-18
I recall seeing this story on Dateline and other investigative shows and always found it to be a haunting tragedy of a father, husband, and son leading a double life. Although he showed signs early on of deviant behavior it went largely unchecked and a murderer was created. Great read but extremely graphic so reader beware!

Historia
It’s a chilling reality that homicide investigators know all too well: The last face most murder victims see is not that of a stranger, but of someone familiar. Whether only an acquaintance or a trusted intimate, such killers share a common trait that triggers the downward spiral toward death for someone close to them: They are masters at hiding who they really are. Their clever masks let them appear safe, kind, and truthful. They are anything but - and almost no one can detect the murderous impulses buried deep in their psyches.

Ann Rule never disappoints in her true crime literary. I was vague familiar with her narrative of A fever in the Heart and was pleased to have purchased it at such a great price. Would highly recommend.
