This book tells me what I knew from being active duty from 1970 to 1987. I saw it from SouthEast Asia to my last PCS at (Inactivated) Reese AFB, Lubbock, TX. From a glossed over Bent Spear at K I Sawyer AFB MI, a B52 crash at Sands MI, F-106 crashes and equipment failures at Reese, KI Sawyer, ANG bases around the northern tier, Shaw AFB SC, the drop of inactivated Nuclear weapons just off the coast of Savannah GA, all covered up or made to seem irrelevant!

I can't equate any of fighting to my time in 'Nam but the feelings & thinking involved are what I felt a lot. Please read these books and try to ignore the bullshit and the superior thoughts. W/o triggering my PTSD I read and understood where Alverez stood!

Damn great story overall from a fantastic author! The supernormal aspect was very entertaining and the connections throughout made them exciting. The personal and sexual interactions made the story better.

The story was not only a story of a possible humanity but also of super humanity. It was also a love story. The interactions of the main protagonists and the side players are elegantly presented to give you a fantasy of proportions you usually don't come across! I love the story and recommend it

Wow - Finally resolved.

I have been a fan of Ms. Briggs for many years. My first introductions to Mercy Thompson was books I found in my local library in Battle Creek MI after seeing the section of her books at the B&N. Due to unforseen personal disruptions (FtM transitioning), I finally began getting back to enjoying reading and after a short time going with Amazon Prime and Audible to starting over again with listening to recorded books. I have been waiting for Adam and Mercy to get past their angst and to finally realize thar perfection is not life but living with your faults and your loved ones faults and foibles is what life is. I hope more readers finally understand this. Thank you Ms. Briggs!

Starts out as part 2

The story is great. I have no complaint with it. However when I opened it and started listening it started as part 2. The first part was of the book ddnt start until about the indicated chapter 14. The story line come back together about indicated chapter 30. Very confusing!

I have read this book several times but this oral presentation has allowed my mind to wonder and imagine and allowed me to really take in the story. I wish the movie could have the same result. I sincerely enjoyed this presentation.
