Bursting with insights….
Revisado: 11-02-24
I appreciate Alua’s raw and real approach to living… and dying. “We GET to live and we GET to die.” Gahhh. The wisdom explodes from this gifted and profound authors body. I’m going to focus more on really living. I don’t want to arrive at death having lived a mediocre existence. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Also, I will approach hard conversations differently from this point forward. This book is a gift to humanity.

I never fail to be amazed by the Jonathan Field’s intellect. He is not only a brilliant interviewer, he seems authentic and interacts so effortlessly. He seems to really do his research but nothing feels scripted. This is simply a class podcast. I just love it.

I left a review and mentioned something about enjoying the content but struggling with the narration. Well, I had it at 1.1x speed. So…. If you’re looking at this title and decide to buy it…. do yourself a favor and listen at regular speed. Unless you enjoy the valley girl, gen y type sound. 😂

This book is fascinating. I’ve found myself suggesting that several of my friends read it. This nagging may lose me friends, but the risk is worth it. 😉 It could be life transforming for so many.

Historia
Real estate investors used to build wealth the hard way: slowly saving money and sacrificing their current happiness for a future reward. This method produces results in the long run but what if there's a better, more efficient way that works in years instead of decades? Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat (BRRRR) is the five-part real estate investing strategy that makes financial freedom more attainable than ever: You buy a property under market value, add value with renovations, rent it out to tenants, complete a cash-out refinance, and then use that money to do it all over again.

So much of this book happens to be common sense things, that for some reason, have been overlooked as the proper way to do real estate investing. Seriously such a helpful book for changing your mindset about things you may have been taught throughout your lifetime. Total game changer. Thank you for writing it and sharing your brilliance.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

This is one of those rare books that if I could, I would make it required reading... ESPECIALLY for adults. ESPECIALLY for people of privilege. This is a thought provoking book that makes one think. Hard. It is a book that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I am grateful for this book. I am grateful for this author.

I enjoyed this audiobook.
Revisado: 10-21-18
As I was listening, I kept thinking, "this was not how I imagined Hannah Brencher's voice would sound." It was when I decided to leave a review that I realized that it wasn't Hannah's voice. I quite enjoyed the book. I am happy that I gave it a listen. Parts of it have served as inspiration for sure. I am fascinated and impressed by her Mother's beautiful way of parenting and equally impressed by Hannah's way of noticing and appreciating her Mother. I enjoyed this book start to finish. I am thrilled that it has been published and that I found it. Thank you.

Historia
The Other End of the Leash shares a revolutionary new perspective on our relationship with dogs, focusing on our behavior in comparison with that of dogs. An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell looks at humans as just another interesting species, and muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in them.

EXCELLENT!
Revisado: 09-26-18
Anyone who has ever trained a dog, anyone who ever plans to train a dog, anyone who lives with a dog or anyone ever in the vicinity of a dog should read this book. It is quite good. It really helps people understand that so many of the things we may do thinking that they are the best ways to handle a situation, are actually harmful to a healthy human/canine relationship.

Historia
"Sometimes I want to spend hours talking with my best friends about boys and fashion and school and life. I want to go to the gym; I want my hair to look nice; I want to be allowed to wear jeans. I want to be a normal young woman living in America, sometimes. But I want other things more. All the time. I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day. I want to be loved and cuddled by a hundred children and never go a day without laughing.
