I must say, with all of the reviews, pointing to a five star. With everyone describing this series as a must read, and an irresistible must have. I must say, I highly disagree. The storyline, and the world building, are both amazing. But the main character, the supposed to be FMC. has so much potential, that her whining and nagging and self loathing had me skip to the end just to see what was going to happen. I really saw myself purchasing book 2, and then I read the real reviews that stated the same thing I just posted above. I changed my mind. She is just too much!

I found this book recommendation from booktok. I will admit I was a little skeptical. My past 4 booktoks were a complete bust. I tried again and I am so happy I did. I enjoyed the entire book, beginning to end.

The performance

Storyline was slightly annoying. Main character basically sacrificed herself and her wants for a family that blatantly put themselves before her. A family who continued to sacrifice her happiness for their own. She was also falling in love the entire book and only took fantasy and small moments all because of said duty and family. I would have loved for her to realize her family never put her first and actually went after what she wanted. Instead she didn’t like it but still continued to be used basically the entire book!

This was an amazing naval, I enjoyed both the first book and the second! Both Maggie and Clay are beautiful beings and Meredith really capture each character and the struggles they endured to get to the ending goal! Love love love
