Short, predictable and absolutely ridiculous dialogue. Don’t waste your time and money. I have no idea how some of these are published.

The story jumping around and having a Dallas type ending was awful. The characters are neurotic and not likable.

Really enjoyed this book and the narration. Would definitely recommend . Dear Audible, minimum words required for review is annoying.

absolutely repulsive main character
Revisado: 06-03-23
it would be fine if having the main character is meant to be so incredibly unlikable but that is not the case. You are expected to somehow relate to such a terrible woman. This was a free listen and I actually expected the main character to be held accountable for her behavior and choices but that was not how it ended. Thank God it was only 6 hours.

The main characters are so unlikeable
Revisado: 03-15-22
I watched this series on Netflix recently and thought I would check the book out. To my surprise it was already in my library and I had only listened to 3 hours of it. After starting from the beginning and trudging through it, I see why. Andrea and Laura are so absolutely terrible and frustrating. The whining, stuttering and constant sobbing had me wanting to scream "get to the effing point" or "spit it out already". I have always enjoyed Karen Slaughter books but this was a BIG miss for me.

absolutely ridiculous
Revisado: 03-09-22
I read other books by the author that were included with my membership and liked them. I decided to pay for this one and honestly I don't care about the money, I care about the time I spent listening to it that I will not get back. Hands down one of the worst story lines I have endured. An extreme disappointment. Both predictable and nonsensical

Keep your politics out of your books
Revisado: 09-05-21
I couldn't finish, absolutely the worst Stephen King book. The constant hate and remarks that King makes about President Trump distract from the story, that is already hard to listen to story. Poorly researched. Don't waste your money.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.
