Historia
Allie Hilts was still in high school when a fire at a top-secret research facility released an air-borne pathogen that quickly spread to every male on the planet, killing most. Allie witnessed every man she ever knew be consumed by fearsome symptoms: scorching fevers and internal bleeding, madness and uncontrollable violence. The world crumbled around her. No man was spared, and the few survivors were irrevocably changed. They became disturbingly strong, aggressive, and ferocious. Feral.

Easy read but predictable
Revisado: 04-11-25
This book was ok. Even though it’s not classified in the Young Adult genre, it should be. The story line was sometimes hard to follow with so many different perspectives from the characters. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed, the idea for the story was good but the follow through was predictable, at best.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Wonderful story and narration!
Revisado: 03-20-25
I just loved this story! Already a fan of the octopus, this story touched my heart for so many reasons. From the mother who lost her son, to the son who never knew his parents and a giant Pacific Octopus named Marcellus, this story was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Highly recommend!

Good story, horrible narration
Revisado: 03-05-25
I had a hard time sticking with this book, the narration just wasn’t good. I stuck with it because the story was entertaining and kept my interest but the narration just seemed all wrong.

Good book but AI Narration ruined it for me
Revisado: 03-03-25
The story is good but I had a really hard time getting into it and staying with it because of the narration. The AI narration is so blah, it’s tedious. I feel for authors who use it because it’s horrible! It drones on and on. If you don’t mind the AI narration, I recommend this book but if it bothers you, like it does me, skip it.

Good Book but hate virtual voice narration
Revisado: 12-22-24
I enjoyed the story however, the virtual voice narration is horrible. I much prefer the human narration where there are inflections, emotions, drama, etc the virtual voice narration just kinda drones on and it makes the book harder to get into and stick with.

Yet another fantastic tale from the master, Stephen King
Revisado: 10-31-23
Wow!! I LOVED this book! I’ve read every single novel, Stephen King, has written and he never disappoints! The story line was fantastic, the characters are well developed, it kept me riveted from beginning to end. If you haven’t read the preceding novels, starting with Mr. Mercedes I recommend you do so before starting this book. If you’re a Stephen King fan, I HIGHLY recommend and even if you’re not, it’s a great story! Sigh… I’m bummed I’m done with it!!
