I can't wait for the famine series to come out!! I love the whole Mate Games series!! Absolutely love that it is done with a full cast of some of the BEST voice actors out there.

The story was decent and the characters were likeable. The narration was flat with no differentiation between characters. No inflection and no emotion. Virtual Voice would be great for a self-help book or text book, but in the romance genre, it is a complete flop! Really took away from the good aspects of the book. I wish this book was done in duet with a great narration team like Jake and Bridget Bourdeux. They would be awesome! Unfortunately, I can't handle any more books done with virtual Voice, so I won't be listening to the rest of the series. which is really a shame since this storyline has everything I love in a paranormal romance.

the story itself was actually very good, but I almost couldn't get through it. The narrator was absolutely horrible!!! She was unable to do a male voice to save her life, her accents almost made my ears bleed and the pausing every third or fourth word gave me nightmares of William Shatner!

Lots of promise, poorly executed. Narration was good, but dear god! Can we move the story forward please!!!! Could not finish! Won't waste time trying to listen to anything else by this author!

The narration was absolutely horrible! The female narrator has some weird kind of accent that was distracting and off putting and the male narrator was doing his best William Shatner impression with all the pauses and odd cadence. The story had potential, but the narrators killed it for me.

I love paranormal RH romance books, especially if they have a little M/M action along with the M/F situations. I had very high hopes for this series, but I could not get through book 1. The written dialogue is that of a childish, naive teenager. With lines akin to, "Hey, we're all assassins!" and the child-like voice of the narrator (who doesn't seem to even try to change her voice for the male characters), this series is a flop.

The FMC is supposed to be a street-hardened woman with a tragic past who is inducted into a league of assassins after killing the foster father who raped her and attempted to rape her 7 yo foster sister. By joining the league, her latent succubus side is released. With this gritty back story and demonic heritage, I would expect this character to be wise beyond her years and self-confident. Nope. She is a whiney, self-doubting git who needs the approval of others even after having 11 years to come to terms with her new situation.

Total let down.

I love alien romance and how the authors don't have constraints involving anatomy, human behavior or setting. When I read the publishers summary for these books, I thought it could be a really great series. the first book was ok. I felt like I could relate to certain aspects of the FMC. The second book was horrible. The author did a great job on describing the planet and wildlife. I was easily able to create a wonderful mental picture of the terrain. The characters, especially the FMC, brought to mind immature teenagers who can't differentiate between there a**es and a hole in the ground. If I want to hear children arguing, telling on each other and flouncing away in the most over-dramatic ways possible, I will visit the local middle school. It was torture. I couldn't make it through the second book and didn't even want to try the third. Don't waste your credit.

I love this series, but this book fell short of expectations. The narrator was good as always, but even his deep voice sounded whiney when reading the dialogue. These are supposed to be adults close to 30 years old and they sounded like angst ridden teenagers.

The plot also had a lot of potential, but it was never fully realized. It seemed like the author was tired and threw some words on the page to wrap this one up as quickly as possible. So disappointing.

I love the idea behind these books!!! The author tells an indepth story and supplies the background you need to feel like you are involved in the story. The narrator, while she has a good voice for 1 female character, does not even seem to attempt a male voice let alone several. It makes it hard to follow who is speaking and I find I'm spending a lot of time trying to figure it out. it is very annoying!!!

I love books based on mythology. The storyline here is interesting, buy this narrator is not good with the male character's voices. She gave the phoenix a voice that makes him unattractive regardless of how hot he is supposed to be. It really takes away from the book.
