Revisado: 04-14-24
This author writes clever, layered, and well researched plots with characters that you can love and hate with depth, strife and growth. Yet the audiobook is a shadow of what it should be because they didn’t use a real narrator or reader, who can know that they are mispronouncing the word “wind” every time it was read in a book about beaches that are always windy. I listened to them all because I adore the writing, but please use live readers with emotion and nuance for her other books! AI isn’t always the answer.

Joey Darling thought she’d take a quick acting gig between filming her hit TV show, Relentless, and prepping for an upcoming movie. The peaceful island of Lantern Beach seemed like a perfect getaway, especially when her fiancé joins her on location.

Life is boring when you live in the real world instead of starring in your own book series. Owen knows that better than anyone, what with the real world's homework and chores. But everything changes the day Owen sees the impossible happen - his classmate Bethany climbs out of a book in the library. It turns out Bethany's half fictional and has been searching every book she can find for her missing father, a fictional character.

Revisado: 08-02-21
This was a gift to me on a rainy day. I’m in my 40s and I just wanted an escape, some adventure, and as a girl who loves to slip into books the premise seemed intriguing. The story was fantastic and the reader is epically gifted. His drama made me laugh out loud and be so enthralled with the book I listened to it all day. Thank you author. Thank you Narrator!

Was it always so psycho
Revisado: 08-29-20
This version seemed at first like a fascinating re-imagining, but quickly devolved into a disturbing tale that felt more like Lord of the Flies than charming Peter Pan from my youth.
Thank God I decided to listen to it before I listened with my nephews. I couldn’t even finish it because it was so disturbing, not clever and pleasant like I remember.
The performances were good, but Barrie would not like this version, or at least I certainly didn’t.

It’s the $10 million heist you’ve never heard of. In a matter of months, dozens of truckloads disappeared from American highways. But what were they carrying? Nuts. Marc Fennell takes you into a rabbit hole of crime syndicates, stolen identities and private investigators that will change the way you think about food forever. Eighty per cent of the world’s almonds are grown in the heart of California, but this journey will take you to Italy, the Spanish coast, deep under the earth and even into space.

What fun
Revisado: 07-28-20
First off Marc is just fun to listen to, from his accent to his disarming charm and humor. His winsome personality gets people to share in a very natural way so that the pace and depth of responses are exciting and not drawn out (though the editing is likely exceptional as well). I particularly lived how well round a story he told from the heist to marketing, to air quality and the water shed ... it was brilliant and fun and I promise to cherish each nut that I eat just that much more after listening to this!

Revisado: 06-14-20
This is a change-your-life kind of book. The author draws you into a deeper walk with the Lord in practical and yet challenging ways. He has you think about things from a different perspective. This book definitely isn't about being a run-of-the-mill Christian, it's about being a disciple who makes disciples.

Gripping, thrilling, inspiring
Revisado: 08-15-19
I started this book on a long weekend with my nephews just to make the car-time for the trip a little more passable, but we all got sucked in. Soon, we were listening before bed, then just for some “quiet/rest time” in the after noon, and though the weekend ended we hadn’t finished the book. I’m ashamed to say that I totally went on and listened to the rest of the book without them because I had to know what happened to Igibys! This was a beautifully written and performed story with so much drama it was as if their own grandfather was reading them the story. Thank you Mr. Peterson and thank you Mr. Sandon for this delightful experience!
