Historia
Simone used to be the woman that other women would use if they suspected that their partner was cheating. She would investigate, find out the truth, and if the men were guilty, exact revenge. But after things went wrong with one couple, Simone was forced to go into hiding. Simone is now Mary, a mild-mannered woman who doesn't raise her voice or get angry, meaning nobody would suspect her of being capable of the things she used to do for a living. But when she finds out that her new boyfriend is having an affair, it awakens in her the person she used to be.

It was pretty good…
Revisado: 06-09-24
I didn’t like that she technically killed in self defense. I would’ve loved a double twist of her not going to jail for long because of that fact… that’s probably only thought of in the US. 😂

Goodbye Grouchy, selfish Gail
Revisado: 10-18-23
I have a really enjoyed the series. However, every time Gail gets offended in from way she is such a beotch to Joe. I have not liked her from the start. I hope he finds someone amazing 😉

Cash
Revisado: 11-20-22
I have enjoyed the writing, but this book was harder for me to get in to. Probably because of the narration. The narration from the first two felt more like I was listening to Cash personally narrating her own story. The calm, laid back vibe of the first two books differ and I missed it. Still a good story. Just different.

Historia
Once burned, twice shy.... Jackson Roberts had tried commitment once. He'd tried it all the way to the altar, where he'd been left standing when his fiancé jilted him. That had been enough to convince him that his future would include focusing on the ranch and women.... plural. He hadn't met one that even tempted him to reconsider - until now.

I guess if it’s your thing
Revisado: 10-02-22
To have a lead female character who pretends to be a strong woman but then acquiesces to every petulant demand from a man, then this is the book for you. Also, why does it feel like she used a thesaurus to figure out replacement words once and then used them over and over again throughout the book?

Stories in the series have been interesting…
Revisado: 05-25-22
I can’t tell whether I should thank the author or be annoyed. The overthinking of the lead character is about enough to drive me crazy… what if…(insert implausible scenario here x3 or x5 depending on the mood during that chapter) happens.
Oh for goodness sake, you write an intelligent character that then acts so dumb. Ugh
But at least I’ve started to River off my overthinking is annoying to those around me.
Overall, it is enjoyable… but sometimes when the lead over thinks, over thinks again and then over thinks AGAIN… I get lost because I stopped listening somewhere. Then I have to rewind. Like I said, not sure if I should thank the author for helping me be more self aware, or annoyed that I get bored, stop listening and then have to rewind.

Historia
Cambridge, England: Outside the city, the badly decomposed body of a teenage girl has washed up in the flooded fens. Detective Inspector Chloe Frohmann and her partner, Morris Keene, must work quickly to identify the victim before the press takes off with the salacious story. Across the hallowed paths and storied squares of Cambridge University, the detectives follow scant clues toward the identity of the dead girl. Eventually, their search leads them to Deeping House, an imposing country manor where, over the course of one Christmas holiday, three families, two nannies, and one young writer were snowed in together.

I don’t know if it was the writing or the narration
Revisado: 03-25-22
I enjoyed the perspective of the autistic/OCD girl. But it almost felt like that bled into several of the characters in a way that wasn’t natural and made them appear dense. So part of this could be in the inflection of the narration, and part of it could’ve just been the writing. For instants the assumptions of characters that others were out to get them was odd. Both the Main police characters and the main character George.
So I guess the storyline was fairly good with some odd character issues and maybe that was the author trying to have too many different sub plots?
It was okay…

Well written guide to grooming
Revisado: 02-15-22
If you want a guide to grooming a child for pedophilia, this is your book. If a child has had a screwed up life, they’re a prime target. I couldn’t finish it… some could say if I didn’t finish it, I didn’t understand. But that’s why it’s such a Grooming going on. It’s grooming adults to think it’s not as bad as it is. ANY touching of children is violating their innocence. Disappointed that I listened as far as I did thinking it would turn out different.
