I knew I'd love this collection, being a fan of the noir genre and of Santa Cruz. The writers do not shy away from the dark side, twists, turns and irony. The narrators and audio quality are also top notch. Thank you Editor Bright for casting a good amount of women voice actors in this anthology. The stories are fun, moody and take you inside this special town.

Easily the best audiobook I have ever heard!

I liked it. Moves a little slow at first but the details and point of view are charming. And it has some good twists at the end Most of all I fell in love witj Anna Massey’s narration.

What does Dylan Baker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Dylan Baker captures the spirit of the novel and its characters without overacting. The hours flew by with this narration and harrowing well-written story.
Any additional comments?
Between chapters there are overlong harmonica intervals at a louder volume than the narrator. Bad for the ears. Once at the start would have been enough. Otherwise the quality of this audio book would be perfect.
